Episode articles

Should we make episode articles. The film is part of the DC Extended Universe, and we might find enough coverage about the production of the episodes. I think we should give the series it's own episode articles. Ulises1126 (talk) 17:09, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

It is too early to tell if we will have enough individual production information to justify episode articles, especially when this article is not particularly big and can easily fit some episode-specific content. We can start working on potential episode articles in the draftspace but we definitely shouldn't be jumping straight to making articles for each episode. - adamstom97 (talk) 22:26, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

Update infobox image

Didn't want to change this myself, but I think given the nature of the series' opening credits, the articles that have been done about them, and the commentary that already exists in the article, the infobox image should not be the "prerelease/marketing" image, but rather the ending still of the opening. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:08, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

I have also been thinking about this. HBO Max continues to market the series using the logo and I think it is valid as far as identification goes, but traditionally we have changed the logo to match what is shown on screen and the title sequence is obviously widely covered in sources. - adamstom97 (talk) 20:16, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Most TV shows on streaming services has the show title-card in a black background and hbo max website has this image on its website. According to the infobox television template non-free material should be avoided so a title card without the cast is better than the current version.Rupturestriker (talk) 07:54, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Disagree: The final image of the opening sequence is not the best choice to most accurately depict what the series/article is about. The sequence is intentionally "ridiculous", and a stage-show dance number. I agree with the consensus initially formed above. Standard practice of the WikiProject Television has typically been to update a marketing logo to the actual titlecard of a series, once it's aired. How ridiculous said titlecard is, that's irrelevant. Furthermore, this particular titlecard and its originating title sequence has been covered through extensive commentary, making it even more suitable than some basic logos. It does not matter where or when HBO uses the logo; we are not HBO, and thus not bound by their rules or usages. -- Alex_21 _TALK 09:13, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Future episode sources

Are any of these [1][2] considered reliable sources for episode titles? They all seem to have had the correct titles for all of the episodes that have aired so far. (I did have another, through themoviedb org, but Wikipedia's blacklist filtered it.) -- Alex_21 _TALK 02:32, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Soundtrack writers

@Adamstom.97: Hi there! The soundtrack writers are credited at Allmusic, including "Tommy Lee / Nikki Sixx" for "Home Sweet Home". What would be the best way to readd the information and cite the source? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 22:34, 3 March 2022 (UTC)

It isn't included on the announced track list from standard sources like the one we have in the article, or on streaming services that have the album as far as I can see. We do already include links to Mötley Crüe and Home Sweet Home that have more information about the original version of the song as well. - adamstom97 (talk) 06:30, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

It will later be released on Blu-ray on September 6, 2022 by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

Logo vs intertitle

@Trailblazer101 I don't claim to be an expert on Wikipedia articles about TV shows and movies, but from what I've seen the image in the infobox is almost always a poster or the logo. For example, Jupiter's Legacy (TV series) just uses its bland text logo instead of the in-show intertitle which is much more colorful. I'm not sure if there is a specific rule, but we should at least include both. Scu ba (talk) 18:14, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

Per MOS:TVIMAGE: "For a main article, use an intertitle shot of the show (i.e., a screenshot capture of the show's title) or a promotional poster used to represent the show itself. Alternatively, use a home media cover. If a show has multiple intertitles throughout its run, the most representative one should be used; the intertitle does not need to be updated each time a new version is used." Especially since the intertitle received much commentary and discussion in reviews, it is relevant and prominent to have in the infobox. Season drafts

Hi all, I have created drafts for season articles at Draft:Peacemaker (season 1) and Draft:Peacemaker (season 2). They can be moved to the mainspace once filming for S2 begins. I have also done a first attempt at cutting down this page to a series summary article, which you can see in my sandbox here. @Trailblazer101: I don't think Gunn's "pre-shoot" comment means the season is still in pre-production. He posted that filming for the season started today, that he was directing today, and that today was day 1 which always means the first day of filming in my experience. I'm not too sure what he meant by the "pre-shoot" comment but based on the comment he was responding to it could be meaning he was filming Peacemaker before doing Superman filming later that day, or something like that? Either way we have confirmation that filming has started for the season which should be all we need to make the page moves and updates. - adamstom97 (talk) 22:37, 13 April 2024 (UTC)

I'm happy to discuss this as it is admittedly ruffling my feathers given some conflicting statements from those involved versus what many of the fan sites and some trades are stating. The reason I'm skeptical about this is that Gunn, Holland, and Cena previously said filming would take place this summer, while Production Weekly listed filming from June to September and PWInsider listed it as from June to November around Thanksgiving. Cena recently shared (time embedded for clip; third-party) he has to travel to Europe to finish shooting Heads of State and that he will move onto this season right after that. Most of the sources I've seen base their claims of filming solely off of Gunn's day 1 post, though many of those (here), here, here, here, and here) primarily use "filming" in the WP:Headlines and use "production" in the body (though I can get by WP:VNT for this), while others seem to presume it equates to filming when that contradicts what we previously knew. Plus, Gunn's still directing Superman and previously said he wouldn't be able to work on this right away, hence other directors joining, though working on both concurrently as he also said could be a possibility. Though, I just find this rather ambiguous without the proper context taken into account as many involved persons said filming won't start until the summer. I won't stand in the way of any proper additions or moves being made, I just don't think it is as clean-cut as many sites have made it out to be given Gunn didn't explicitly state it was for filming and the director gig involves more work than just shooting actors, such as costume fittings/tests, etc. in pre-production, which this looked like to me.
