My Pal Mickey never gave information on parade start times or on short lines. Then again I went to WDW in June, so maybe there never were short lines to report on. It did give a tip on when the fireworks were about to start, though. 204.69.40.7 21:43, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I can assure you he does both. As far as parade start times, it's relative to the current time "The parade will be starting in 30 minutes." As far as short lines, he has to be headed toward that part of the park. For instance he only tells me about short lines for Space Mountain when I'm headed toward Tomorrowland, and Winnie the Pooh when near Fantasyland. Arwen4014 22:38, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My Pals (a v1 and v2) have given both "short wait" notifications for rides (in one experience for Buzz Lightyear: Space Ranger Spin) as well as reminders of various parades or events. In fact, I was in Mickey's Philharmagic and he kept repeatedly laughing to tell me about a castle stage show. It's rare to get the short attraction notice though as I believe it has to be (a) an attraction which uses a digital wait time indicator (Haunted Mansion for example does not) and (b) has to drop to either 5 or 10 minute wait. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.200.227.70 (talk) 04:55, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

During several automated bot runs the following external link was found to be unavailable. Please check if the link is in fact down and fix or remove it in that case!

The Patent office link is working fine now. I'm going to guess it's a problem from where ever you run the bot. Arwen4014 22:41, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Flagged for no sources? There aren't any sources

[edit]

In regards to the notation that the article does not cite sources - It's literally impossible to do so as there is no formal specifications page published by the Disney company. Those of us who are Pal Mickey aficionados are able to provide the information on Pal as a result of four years of use and discussion. There used to be a community/message board dedicated to Pal Mickey but it's owner has since closed the site. I plan on putting the information back onto the web in a cohesive form but have not yet had the time to do so. Even then, referencing a page like the one I plan to write or the defunct message board is based on personal knowledge. Pal has had very minimal technical specifications published and only small amounts of repetitive marketing press given. The expert advice of people who've contributed to this article (myself included) is honestly the best and only resource short of getting one of the Imagineers to confirm what we've said. With Disney non-disclosures and teams of lawyers though, you'll never get that. I suggest Wikipedia take this into account and accept the personal knowledge as the best and only source of information out there and not flag it for non-existent source references.

Unfortunately, that's not the way Wiki works. We can't "accept your word for it" as using verified sources is the backbone of Wikipedia. Matthew Glennon(Talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 19:07, 3 October 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Does anyone know when Disney stoped selling these in the parks? I think that should be noted in this article, I read about Pal Mickey while planing my vacation and was looking forward to getting one for my son. Bot he and I were very disipointed when we got to WDS and where told that they had stoped selling them eventhought the system that they worked with was still up and running. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nukeguy04 (talkcontribs) 02:47, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Technical Information

[edit]

I have a V1 and V2 Pal Mickey. The housing colors are Black (V1) and Yellow (V2) this is the first time I've ever heard of white housings on V1.

My v1 has a white battery housing as described in article. Additionally, my v2 (HCOE) has a yellow battery casing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.200.227.70 (talk) 04:52, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
