Naaz joshi
[edit]I want experts to review this page and publish it for general public. This is an inspirational journey of an indian trans woman, who has risen from the ashes and has become the star. Queenuniverse (talk) 06:31, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Gwenhope: I will check in time to time and see what I can do. I have pinged in someone I think might be able to help as well. I am not an expert, but I noticed your citations were not properly placed at the end of the sentence or paragraph, but are posted at the bottom of the article. That is not the way to place citations or references, they have to be inline, that is they need to be placed after the sentence or paragraph to which they pertain. I am curious I see that references were made to the article as though it was denied under Articles for Creation. I could not find where the article was submitted for AfC from a draft. Was there a draft of this article?Did you submit it for publication (that is moving it to mainspace as an article)?Oldperson (talk) 00:37, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- QueenuniverseI have made some corrections and have done some work on this article. You have to match the references under Other reading with the paragraphs in the article. The references go at the end of the paragraph and you can have more than one. I also have some questions that you need to answer.
- First you mention Miss Internal Trans (2nd edition in Belgium)I cannot find a reference to this event in google.
- Wikipedia has referenceto Miss Trans Star International but that is not the same as it is on its 9th event.Oldperson (talk) 02:48, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- Dear gwen hope I am trying to fix the citations today. Thank you so much for the help. I don't know how to submit it for the review for publication. But I want to express my gratitude towards you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Queenuniverse (talk • contribs) 06:57, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- I also wish to express my gratitude to @oldperson thanks so much everyone.i am really touched — Preceding unsigned comment added by Queenuniverse (talk • contribs) 09:13, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- QueenuniverseI am glad to help. I found her picture via Google search Images. Very pretty. It would help if there was a photo of her on the particle page. I can't use images from the internet because of copyright problems, however if you have an image of her you can upload to wikipedia commons. Not one from the internet I can steer you in that direction. If it is too much trouble I might be able to help. Also when you are done making comments here or on the Teahouse sign your comments with four tildes. This is a tilde: ~. If you sign with a tilde the wikipedia system will automatically sign your user name, date and time. I also found this via google it is the same as your user name. https://pageantvote.in/pageants/1634, Naaz is not featured, so no conflict of interest WP:COI yet, Gwenhope has not yet edited your article, she is probably preoccupied at the moment. Those were my edits. When responding to someone on wikipedia please ping or notify them first by putting at the beginning of the sentence their name inside of brackets like this @Oldperson: you will have to view the ping syntax by going to source edit. When it is ready or I feel it is ready I can help you submit it for draft. The first thing is to get it out of your sandbox, so I am going to move it to Draft:Naaz Joshi.Oldperson (talk) 16:58, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Queenuniverse: I have moved your sandbox article to Draf:Naaz Joshi as you can see. However I screwed up and had to copy and paste, in the process some of the comments on the talk page don't show. Anyway the article is in better shape now, but still needs work before submitting, at least it is a start. When ready to submit let me know,it will probably be declined hopefully with some suggestions on how to improve the article.Oldperson (talk) 17:13, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Oldperson: a ton you are really kind @theroadislong has deleted the page saying that its promotion. I want to ask every one why do we have pages for women who are beauty queens, why can't we have an indian beauty queen page too on Google. She is present on 180 website India times is same as times of India, in india all the major newspapers, hindustan times, times of india, the tribune, the deccan Chronicle, the deccan herald, the indian express so far that even BBC hindi has covered her story on their Facebook page and wrote a blog for her. It's my request to all the seniors pls let's not be trans phobic. She deserves equal space on wikipedia as much as other beauty queens who have made their country proud. Some one said I should put this blog on some website, but If we put her article on wikipedia it can be inspiration to many indian trans women to leave sex work and come to mainstream society also her image is available on Wikimedia commons Queenuniverse (talk)
- QueenuniverseTheroadislong is a good editor. He gave me quite a whirl some time ago when I was publishing my first article. He is protecting the image of Wikipedia. I do disagree with him as regards the article being promotion. I believe it is worthy of publication, and I agree there is an underrepresenation of other than the Anglo world beauty pageants and winners. Since Naaz was a winner, and received notice in secondary sources she is deserving of her own article, not so if she was just another contestant. Anyway the article is alive and well at Draft:Naaz Joshi and is awaiting review (scroll to the bottom to see the template. Hopefully it will pass muster.Oldperson (talk) 22:17, 24 October 2019 (UTC)

Unscrew
[edit]PrimeHunter, could you unscrew? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:04, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- I will try to sort it out with a history split and history merge to get the right page history for attribution. Please nobody edit any of the associated talk, draft or sandbox pages during this process. I will post here when I'm done. PrimeHunter (talk) 20:35, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- Done. The pages can now be edited. PrimeHunter (talk) 20:56, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:37, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
External links
[edit]I’ve hidden the external links section until it can be sorted out. The links are still visible in the editing window for reference purposes. Links that qualify as reliable sources and which can be used to support content in the article should be properly formatted and added as inline citations; links that can’t be used as reliable sources, but still meet WP:ELYES or WP:ELMAYBE should be formatted per WP:ELCITE and added to the “External links” section. The article shouldn’t really be used as a holding pen for a bunch of WP:Bare URLs which may be possibly used as citations or external links. — Marchjuly (talk) 13:24, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
Career section
[edit]“Career” doesn’t seem like a very good title for a section including a sentence about being a sex worker and a sentence about a claim of discrimination. Perhaps more content could be added about her life before and after her surgery with the content about being a sex worker added to the before part and the content about the hotel added to the after part. Basically, this seems like an article about two parts of her life with the surgery being the major event separating the two. Perhaps so ideas can be found by looking at Caitlyn Jenner since that’s probably a similar article in this respect. — Marchjuly (talk) 14:06, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
Congrats
[edit]Your draft is now an article. Thanks to the help of some great editors. It is up to you now of editing the article, so that it is expanded. There is always a chance of deletion later on. A template was left at the top of the article with suggestions. I suggest that you follow the suggestion and expand the article. mI do not know the custom of capitalization of named in India, but every part of a name, first name, middle names, last name are capitalized. I have had to capitalized Joshi in the article and just now in the photo in the info box.Oldperson (talk) 14:45, 25 October 2019 (UTC) QueenuniverseI agree with Marchjuly that the heading career is not appropriate for the content, alas I can not think of another heading. At the time the Draft was first messaged, by me, there was more information under career, that would make it appropriate. Perhaps there is some information that has been deleted that can flesh out the heading. Lacking that you might think of another word or term, maybe something like Professional Life and Struggles.Oldperson (talk) 16:32, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
- Marchjuly Oldperson I shall follow all the instructions and shall try to be a better learner under guidance of great writers and editors like you all. Queenuniverse (talk)
Naaz being a mother
[edit]Queenuniverse When you have a RS reference you can cite about her being a mother you might want to enter the comment with the citation, but I would not do so until then.Oldperson (talk) 20:02, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you user:oldperson shall keep your valuable advice in mind for the next time. Thanks for the guidanceQueenuniverse (talk)
Miss World Diversity Pageant
[edit]@Theroadislong and Queenuniverse:Miss World Diversity does not have it's own wiki article, but that does not mean that it is not notable, or significant, not sure that notability of a beauty pageant is the requirement for mentioning it an article, however it is notable enough for the New India Express to take notice of it and Ms Joshi. While at it I believe that I mentioned that any photos (images) have to be copy right free and that anything published on the internet is assumed by Wikimedia Foundation to be copyrighted. This must be so to save the foundation from being sued. I understand that some publicly sourced images are considered copyright free, Flickr is sometimes one of those, check out the requirement here You can use images from the internet or news sources if you obtain permissions via a letter addressed from the copyright holder to Wikimedia commons via Open Ticket Resource System(OTRS Oldperson (talk) 19:47, 26 October 2019 (UTC)
