Mario Kart 8 is not a Nintendo Switch game

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a Nintendo Switch game. Therefore, all of the categories that apply to only Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and not Mario Kart 8, such as Category:Nintendo Switch games, should only be on the redirect's page per WP:INCOMPATIBLE. I believe this is a textbook case of WP:INCOMPATIBLE. (Oinkers42) (talk) 16:28, 9 March 2024 (UTC)

Half wrong half right

Make new 8 deluxe page?

Since Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has a lot of things that are more or less different, I think we should add a separate page for it rather than it being part of the original's page. Theeverywhereperson 15:16, 9 November 2024 (UTC)

There's a standing WP:CONSENSUS against it existing though, so its harder than just creating it, you'll need to convince the community through a discussion that things have changed since a year or two ago, and that the article is necessary and should not be WP:MERGEed. It would take extensive work and Wikipedia-knowledge to even have a chance of pulling this off, which was the cause for my surprise that Oinkers suggested it so casually.

You're free to attempt a WP:DRAFT, but this would be an advanced project - I wouldn't recommend it as a starter project. Sergecross73 msg me 17:12, 11 November 2024 (UTC)

Nothing's stopping you from working on a WP:DRAFT for one. But don't expect it to be accepted unless you can bring it up to a high-enough quality that shows that it's notable to stand on its own, with reliable sources and not repeating everything in this article.
