[edit]What do you want to be done here? MUD defined? That's what hyperlinks are for. I think this article is fine, if they don't know the context, they can always click on links to get an introduction. What's the problem? Not enough redundancy? Should the car article define what a wheel is? Myrdred 03:26, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps include the basics of how this protocol relates to the telnet protocol, and the differences between MCCP1 and MCCP2 (Notably, IAC DO MCCP2 should come first on servers that support both, that IAC SB MCCP WILL SE is a malformed telnet statement for MCCP1, which preceeds the zlib stream. Perhaps that MCCP2 does IAC SB MCCP IAC SE before starting the zlib stream?) I'm not entirely sure how to expand it without getting into those details. There's really not much to note other than the differences between the two without getting quite technical. Kairuni 20:58, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
- Regarding my previous, http://www.zuggsoft.com/zmud/mcp.htm is another reference for MCCP, though labelled 'MCP', for the differences between the two subnegotiation options Kairuni 15:43, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
Objection to deletion proposal
[edit]Whilst I agree that the quality of this article is "stub" class, it is useful to draw together references to other resources on the subject. I thus have removed the deletion proposal as the notice for that says I can.
As a coder for a MUD client Mudlet I have use for this page and would like to see it's contents expanded (to include at least the explanation of how the MCCP version one had a broken Telnet sub-option sequence which was the reason for the second version!) SlySven (talk) 11:30, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
