Columbus colonized the New World and his treatment of the indigenous people was appalling. Why do we even have places named after this occupier/oppressor? Hopefully the article will soon have a section entitled "The removal of monuments and memorials to Christopher Columbus". Also, Fluous, many of the articles you added to your list make no mention of Christopher Columbus, and should be removed. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 00:29, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe one day District of Columbia could be changed to "District of Clinton" (he was a two-term president, and his wife certainly deserves something named after her) or "District of Obama" (another two-term president). Anyway, just thinking out loud! Magnolia677 (talk) 02:04, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If you think there was abolitionism in the fiftrenth or sixteenth century, you’re misinformed. No one was against slavery. The Bible supports slavery, the Confederates would point out. It was just what happens to you if you can’t defend yourself militarily. Slaves in the American South had it the worst. There, a slave had no rights. deisenbe (talk) 01:28, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
