November 30, 1955 is his Birthday. Don't know why it's not listed. 76.101.137.229 (talk) 15:33, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Please provide a reliable source for this information. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 18:22, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Remove some info.

[edit]

In his Personal life, it says that the New York Times had an interview where Kevin said he was gay. This is not true as they were referring to his character, Peter who is gay. That and the fact that he's been wearing a wedding ring since the early 2000s. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EndurableYUGI (talkcontribs) 12:47, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect, EndurableYUGI. NYT article by Jeff Muskus identified Conroy as "gay". The article doesn't mention some character "Peter"; neither does the Wikipedia article. -- George Ho (talk) 04:55, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kevin Conroy holds dual citizenship both Irish and American, so wouldn't he be Irish/American?

[edit]

He says in this talk at Dublin Comic Con 2017 that he's a dual citizen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUpO_w6uyzo&t=2347s — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.152.222.181 (talk) 22:10, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Early life and Personal life

[edit]

I just wanted to clear things up and let you guys know why I kept on changing this back and fourth. First off, I apologize for reverting it and edit both his Personal life info back and fourth. Second, the reason why I kept on changing it back and fourth is because I thought it would mage things easier to moved his info about him being gay for in a separate section. Because that info has nothing to do with his early life info, it should be about his personal life. Again, I apologize for what I did, I was just trying to make it more easier to understand when readers read it. 2600:1000:B02B:960F:184C:EC3:F594:271 (talk) 12:48, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t get your question. I’m sorry. 2600:1000:B007:5246:25:B1BF:B5EC:1185 (talk) 21:54, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think they should be one section, or two separate sections? What is your reason for what you think? Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 22:11, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I do kinda think there should be two separate section to help explain both of those life info without having crowded together in one full section. 2600:1000:B07A:660:CD18:7E1A:3A6A:1BA2 (talk) 00:10, 7 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

His voice acting occupation has accidentally been removed by another IP address user, is there by any chance if someone could restore “voice actor” back in his occupation section again? 2600:1000:B05F:38EF:3058:4C50:A675:9A18 (talk) 12:51, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Restored. I checked early revisions and found that "voice actor" appeared, especially before previous protection ended. BTW, I hope my edit summary with "didn't realize" is not misconstructed as being the same IP user, whom I'm not associated with. George Ho (talk) 13:14, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. By the way, I’m really sorry for editing his early life and personal life info back and fourth. My message above here on the talk page explains why I kept on changing it, you can read it if you want. 2600:1000:B067:7D76:6D81:40D5:70BD:EFB9 (talk) 14:08, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Is it ok if we remove his voice acting occupation in the infobox and in the first sentence of the article, if that’s ok?. Because the term “Actor” already covers both his live action and voice over work, plus “voice acting” is a subset of “acting“. 73.61.17.1 (talk) 14:54, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. They're different enough disciplines to mention again. If someone reads "actor", they don't immediately think of voice acting. Being the voice of Batman is also pretty significant.  Ganbaruby! (Say hi!) 01:25, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Already answered above. Please do not open identical requests. You can start a discussion to try and change consensus about having "voice actor" in the infobox. Thanks. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 18:44, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This continues to be a no, as current consensus is to include voice actor as it is a different enough discipline where it can be listed separately. And again, don't refactor other's talk page comments. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 21:32, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Co-label Conroy a "voice actor"?

[edit]

Shall actor Kevin Conroy be also labelled a voice actor, especially in infobox and the lead? --George Ho (talk) 01:24, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@George Ho While best known now as a voice actor, Conroy also had a career as an on-screen actor. GoingBatty (talk) 15:10, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I still have seen repeated attempts to co-label him as "voice actor". Why do you think such attempts have occurred? --George Ho (talk) 15:54, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@George Ho Maybe because he's best known for being a voice actor? It might be better to ask those making the attempts. GoingBatty (talk) 02:55, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In the past year, IP editors performed and reverted such (re)insertions. I've not yet seen almost one editor (re)inserting the co-labelling for a good reason other than trying to battle supposed vandalism. I'm unable to ping the IP editors, and giving them messages would be pointless to me. Shall the RFC discussion do? George Ho (talk) 03:36, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cause of death

[edit]

Cause of death is not confirmed to be cancer, citation points to a single obit that does not mention cause of death once. --2601:2C6:47F:985A:9543:B55:5D5E:3CD4 (talk) 16:53, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information in the Death Section

[edit]

Hello,

Recently two pieces of information were removed from the Death section,

A) Mention of his death trending on Twitter the day he died. B) Mention of the fan tributes at the Batman Statue in Burbank, California.

I feel both should be re-instated because of what I've seen on other celebrity death sections of their Wikipedia pages. Specifically Alan Rickman and Robin Williams. Not only do they mention fans leaving flowers at filming locations, but Williams' page has photos of the fan memorials. Those pages also include specific quotes from other notable people who gave their condolences.

While I realize Rickman and Williams were much more famous, I feel their pages give justification as to why Conroy's page should be handled in a similar manner. Onenightandonemoretime (talk) 06:29, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Saying that his death was trending is WP:UNDUE. Many celebrities deaths become trending news online or IRL when they die. His own Wiki page likely saw a huge spike in views after his death. If you want to use other Wiki pages as examples, most death sections I've seen do not go out of their way to point out someone's death was "trending" or made "international headlines". And many death sections on notable deceased peoples merely include information of their date of death, age at death, a cause of death if available and burial information. Nothing about including extensive tributes likely because of WP:UNDUE.
Mentions of his death trending on social media were removed to keep it simple. Per edit reasoning.[1]
Further adding to WP:UNDUE, the excessive amount of tribute sources for Conroy is redundant because many appear to say similar core messages like "Rest in peace", "He was gone too soon", "He will be missed" and so on. Also, a lot of the sources appear to be straight from social media like Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, or sources that gathered Twitter, Instagram or Facebook tribute posts for the article. Though I will not doubt that many of the social media posts were made with authentic intentions to honour Conroy, there are guidelines about using social media, and specific discussions for citing Twitter and Facebook.
