Dinosaur species

[edit]

Shouldn’t we add the species? That gives way more information. Otherwise I’d recommend people checking out the Jurassic Park Wikia. 2JWE (talk) 17:11, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your edit is well meant, but it's a bit crufty. It's as if we listed all the weapons in a Call of Duty game or all the cars in GTA. Hope you understand. Cheers. --uKER (talk) 17:24, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No, we shouldn't add the species, for one simple reason - WP:GAMEGUIDE 79.74.221.16 (talk) 07:56, 22 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

who cares about your opinion. Yes add the species. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.90.167.13 (talk) 14:00, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah adding the species is a must for a game about dinosaurs. With previous dinosaur games many people have been disappointed to find their favorites not on a game. By listing them on the games Wikipedia page, it creates a simple way to find out before you buy. Pure greatness (talk) 04:41, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No, because Wikipedia is not a video game guide.WP:GAMEGUIDE. Why? Because it's a rule for Wikipedia's goals and purposes. It's just how it is since the beginning.Gabeluna27 (talk) 04:16, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well what about how the Rock Band wiki does it's song list? You could put a section on the page for dinosaurs, give a brief overview - i.e. saying how many dinosaurs are in the base game, how many extra come with the deluxe edition and have some kind of summary text that lists a few key dinosaurs - then have a link to a second article which gives a complete list of dinosaurs in a table format (base game/deluxe edition/DLC). That has the benefit of not clogging the main article up and also leaves the second article open to the expansion of the list it'll need once the Fallen Kingdom DLC drops and any subsequent DLC that comes after that 194.168.123.226 (talk) 08:26, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take this for review. Hopefully I can get back to you soon with some feedback. - adamstom97 (talk) 20:45, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Here are some issues that I think should be addressed in the article:

  • Maybe add a brief description of Isla Nublar to the opening paragraph where it is mentioned (i.e. "A sandbox mode set on Isla Nublar, the setting of the film, can be unlocked").
  • Is "watched Jurassic Park films" supposed to be "watched the Jurassic Park films"?
  • Is there any more information on sales for the game?
  • Make sure that all web citations have archives of the web pages, in case they go down at some point.

Sort those out and we should be good to go. Let me know if you have any questions. - adamstom97 (talk) 03:18, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Adamstom.97: - Thanks for the review! I have fixed most of the issues you have raised. Sales information is already included in the last subsection. I think I will deal with reference archiving later as this is not part of the GA review scope. AdrianGamer (talk) 15:28, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly, looking at the changes you made in the article I can't see where you have addressed any of my concerns. The lead still does not address what Isla Nublar is, the typo regarding watching the films has not been fixed, you did not answer my question about sales, and you have chosen not to provide archives. If you don't want to make a specific change then that is fine, we can discuss it here, but I am confused why you have said that you fixed the issues when you actually didn't.
Specifically for sales, I asked if there is "any more" information since the subsection that you referred to has very little content. As for the archives, you don't have to do them now as I know they are not part of the criteria, but they are still something that I would expect any decent article to have so I still strongly recommend that you provide them. - adamstom97 (talk) 19:40, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Adamstom.97: - I fixed the issue you have raised but then I forgot to publish the changes before I closed my laptop, which is my mistake. I sincerely apologize. I think everything is fixed now. As the game is relatively new, the devs didn't release any more sales information other than the fact that it crossed 1 million sales. AdrianGamer (talk) 06:11, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, I can see that they have been added now. I suggest that you try to keep on top of future sales info, but other than that you have addressed my concerns and I think the article is looking pretty good. Pass - adamstom97 (talk) 07:55, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
