[edit]Johnny Cage's official stats from MKDA:
6'0", 190 lbs. Stop changing them. Thank you.
- You are absolutely correct, but I've removed the notes saying DO NOT CHANGE THIS. I know it's a pain when people stick the wrong information on a Wikipedia article, but there's a friendlier way. =) --L T Dangerous 21:15, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Is his relation to composer John Cage one of mere coincidence? I guess stranger things have happened, but still.... In any case, I'm removing the dadaism reference from beside the composer Cage's name. Dada was long over by the time Cage was composing.
Retcon?
[edit]Can I get some proof that John Vogel retconned Cage's MKT and MK4 storylines?
Yes. http://db.gamefaqs.com/coinop/arcade/file/mortal_kombat_plot.txt check the version 3.5 updates.
There is a mistake in the box pointing the fighting styles od Johnny Cage. He does not use Jun Fan. He uses Jeet Kune Do.
Cage in Mortal Kombat Trilogy
[edit]Why Daniel Pesina was replaced by Chris Alexander in Mortal Kombat Trilogy?
Because Pesina was fired from Midway. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.21.144.217 (talk • contribs)

Trivia section
[edit]We one hell of a huge trivia section and while I've done my best to merge it with the main article, there is a lot of stuff I can't seem to get into there. Trivia is nice to have but there is just far too much, we should try and remove as much of whats left any way possible. Angel Emfrbl 08:25, 15 September 2006 (UTC) Johhny Cage was the fighter who defeated Goro. The lastest confirmation of this is the rivalery art you that is used in menus for MK:A. Sonya and Kano, Shang Tsung and Liu Kang, Cage and Goro!
Cage copyright
[edit]Cage was the lone character in the original MK who did not have a past history with any of the other characters. Though not determined, his lack of storyline may likely have played a part in his omission from several MK side projects.
I thought there was instead a dispute over the original actor claiming a copyright to the likeness of Johnny Cage... I don't have any sources to it, but I thought it was common knowledge (which could have very well been a fan rumor) and was surprised to not see it in the article.
- Most likely a rumor. They fired the original actor after MKII. If he did have a copyright, Johnny Cage would not have appeared in any game after that. Besides, that wouldn't have anything to do with the character not having any previous contact with any of the other fighters before the first game. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 05:33, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say it's a reasonably tenuous claim anyway- Liu Kang doesn't technically have any history with the other characters during MK1. OK, Goro murdered his ancestor 500 years ago and Shang Tsung was responsible, but is that a strong enough link to call it history? Bear in mind, as seen in the Vogel MK1 comic, Liu Kang had only heard stories of Shang Tsung's treachery- he'd never encountered the sorceror or, even less likely, Goro. --L T Dangerous 11:30, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
MKA menu
[edit]Just want to pick up on this:
In MK: Armageddon Johnny Cage and Goro are shown in one of the main menu screen, portraying them as rivals. But whether all the other images have the evil guy in the foreground and the good guy in the background with full-body, Johnny Cage and Goro are oddly enough shown switched in place.
I'll give it a little rewording to make it less clunky once I've added this message, but I felt I should point out the fact Scorpion is a neutral character, so the menu screens aren't as simple as good guy/bad guy. I would, however, say it may be worth mentioning it seems to be the only menu screen influenced by the movie- Mileena/Kitana, Sub-Zero/Scorpion, Kano/Sonya and Sindel/Shao Kahn are all rivalries and hatreds that stem from the games' storyline- Johnny Cage never defeated Goro in the games and it's unlikely they've had much- if, indeed, any- interaction since MK1. --L T Dangerous 11:30, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Ahh, what the hell. I decided to be bold and edit the line in anyway. It's not about to do any harm. --L T Dangerous 11:36, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- cough* Is it me or the creators are referencing to MKSM, where Johnny Cage jumped in and shadow kicked Goro in the stomach? *cough* 'Dmr2hn1 20:48 02.05.2007

Death in Outworld?
[edit]It says on the page that
"Kahn ordered his forces to kill the Earth warriors. Johnny’s comrades were fortunate to make their way back to Earthrealm, Cage however was caught by one of Shao Kahn’s extermination squads and killed."
Where did that info come from? Where does it say that Cage died in Outworld on his way back to Earthrealm? According to his Trilogy biography, Cage was killed by Outworld Extermination Squads, but it doesn't state where it happenned.
Shao Kahn had merged Earth into Outworld in MK3, so Cage couldn't have returned to Eathrealm. 74.171.208.108 05:28, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
If you compare the timeline from MK2 to MK3 the Earth warriors must have returned to Earthrealm before Shao Kahn's invasion, it is stated that Liu Kang and Kung Lao were working on rebuilding the Shaolin Temples. And that Sonya and Jax were trying to warn their superiors about the Outworld but nobody listened to them. I would assume Cage would be working on MK2 during that period of time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.114.148.57 (talk) 03:49, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Cage's filmography
[edit]I remember I used to be able to see a list of the different movies Cage had acted in, according to the various games and the comics, and I was unhappy it was removed. I want to put it back in, but before I do, why was it removed in the first place? I found it interesting and informative.(216.15.62.119 (talk) 03:09, 27 March 2009 (UTC))
- Okay, twice it's been put in and removed - the first time because someone unfairly deemed it "cruff," the second time for no reason whatsoever. If there is a reason Cage's filmography should not be in this entry, can someone at least have the courtesy to answer the question I asked almost a year ago before doing it? I don't want to start an edit war, but I'm tired of taking the time to do something that keeps getting deleted without the courtesy of the explanation I asked for.(216.15.62.119 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 03:36, 18 February 2010 (UTC).
- I've not removed it but WP:FANCRUFT is merely an essay, not a policy. However it does follow WP:IINFO #3. This is the "What Wiki is not policy." That must be followed. We don't want on Wikipedia an excessive list of movie titles, fictional at that, that really have not been shown to the public eye. You and I know about his films, however, not the most interesting of stuff to the random visitor. It's excesive and unessecary to get the point across that Johnny Cage in short is, "a joke character who was based off of Jean Claude Van Damme who breaks a man's balls for a cheap hit." I think it would be useful and I also agree it should be on here, but Wikipedia policy says no and the policy is the final word. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 03:43, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- That's all I wanted to know. Thanks! (I just wish I'd gotten this answer a year ago when I first raised the question rather than have my time wasted posting and reposting it.) (216.15.62.119 (talk) 03:09, 19 February 2010 (UTC))

Lame revert war
[edit]Please stop this lame edit war, which I foresee being added to WP:LAME soon. The Hero of This Nation (talk) 15:16, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yes. Rather than adding it to WP:LAME, the page should be protected until this thing stops. Also, at least give your comment regarding this. I think that whole section should be removed as it's nothing important to the character and statements like "tribute to Bruce Lee" and "redesigned to look more like an actor" are speculations.Tintor2 (talk) 19:21, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
- I thought it was OR but I thought it was just me, instead of a flat out deletion of the section though I'll check out what looks OR and what could possibly be substantiated by a news article. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 21:10, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
[Cage was the last character in the original game to be given a Fatality; co-creator John Tobias changed his fatality from where he threw his opponent across the screen into the uppercut Fatality.
Cage was left out from the Game Boy versions of the original Mortal Kombat, II, 4 and Deadly Alliance due to memory constraints.
In Armageddon, Johnny Cage and Goro are shown in one of the main menu screens.
Reportedly, John Vogel disliked Cage's storyline in Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Mortal Kombat 4.]
It leaves the section with minimum substance but this version is devoid of any OR. Look agreeable?Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 21:19, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Sonya in Johnny Cage's Deadly Alliance ending
[edit]I can't believe I'm having to resort to doing this when Sonya QUITE CLEARLY appears in the ending. She is first seen sitting in a chair wearing her in game attire and in the next shot, she's on the movie poster clinging to Johnny's leg. Why are people having difficulty grasping this simple and obvious fact? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.27.15.251 (talk) 20:21, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Characterization adjectives
[edit]Adjectives that describe Cage's character and comparisons to real-world figures, yes, and commentary on Van Dien's successful portrayal as an "unlikable asshole", sure, but I can't see that it adds to the reader's understanding of the character to include bland insults like "douchebag" and the quaintly self-censoring "P#$$y @$$ B!tch". I've cut the quotes. --McGeddon (talk) 20:14, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
- No problem. I wasn't ever high on the double mention of "douchebag" anyway. sixtynine • speak up • 02:31, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

"See also Dan Hibiki"?
[edit]Why is there a link to Dan Hibiki, at the end of the article? I don't see any connection between these 2 characters. And there's also a link to this page on Dan's page. I was thinking to delete them but I preferred to ask first, maybe I'm missing something. -- Giant Lizard (talk) 21:26, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
