Phone #

[edit]

Does anyone else think having the phone number listed is generally inappropriate here, and possibly vandalism? Gadlor 20:25, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed it. Even if you can get the number through Sony, I don't think it is right for Wikipedia to be distrabuting it. It was added by someone with an AOL IP, probably angry over Star Wars Galaxies.--SirNuke 22:01, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

wrong John Smedley?

[edit]

This title would be better devoted to the other John Smedley, 19th century Derbyshire industrialist. Markpeters 05:27, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you feel John Smedley (19th century industrialist) is significant enough, make an article for him under John Smedley (industrialist), move this one to John Smedley (programmer) (or maybe John Smedley (developer), something like that) and make this page a disambig page. This Smedley is notable (in my opinion), if only from the amount of hate he has generated in the gaming world.--SirNuke 04:44, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Even wronger John Smedley

[edit]

I am about to change this page to a disambiguation and let there be a red link for the industrialist, because there is a John Smedley prior to either of them who is necessary for understanding the greatest satirical poem in English, and that's John Smedley (divine). NPOV

[edit]

This article is highly opinionated. Regardless of one's opinion of the subject, it is not up to Wiki standards for objectiveness. This sort of thing is better suited for a game site's forum.

Protect this article?

[edit]

This article has been subject to repeated reverts between 2 versions: the neutral encyclopedic one, and the protracted rant ("ignorance and arrogance") which seems more a lashing out from disgruntled Star Wars Galaxies players. This is especially obvious when the content of the "rant" version limits the scope to Smedley's involvement in that game, and ignores the factual (cited) historical biographical data of the NPOV version. As SirNuke mentioned above, Smedley is the target of much hatred in the gaming community, but that should not include here. Arakunem 15:58, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd also recommend protection of this article due to repeated vandalism --Joethecomputer (talk) 23:13, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This Thing...

Notice&Reason of Edit Undo

[edit]

Threv, I reverted your change to this article under the reason "Not loaded language. Meant to serve the purpose of statement that there were more than one thread he participated in, doing so in an antagonizing manner. The quoted thread is just a single example." There's plenty of archived Smedley posts to be found in the archive at http://www.swgemu.com/archive/scrapbookv51/tree/. Dig in there and you'll find plenty of antagonizing posts by smedley. I decide only to reference the single post because it was the most antagonizing, and if i had included all antagonizing posts of his the article would become heavily bloated over the single issue of his attitude during that period of his life. However, it should still be noted that the quoted post is just one of his outlashes against the SWG community at that time, and thus the reinstatement of my complete original paragraph. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.150.132.202 (talk) 14:36, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever, dude, suit yourself. Keep the childish crap in there. Threv (talk) 17:28, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

actually, your childish whining doesn't need to be in Wikipedia. Removing the sentence. Threv (talk) 17:33, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
