"He has also worked to get Unity's game engine into Oculus' software development kit." is entirely inaccurate, and completely nonsensical.
[edit]While it appears to be stated in the source, the source is incorrect. Unity is not in Oculus's SDK. Oculus SDK is not in Unity. No permutation of this sentence is remotely accurate.
Didn't there used to be a feature to flag accuracy issues like this? It seems now all I can do is submit a correction (blocked by protected page) or start talk here - which I suppose isn't the worst thing.

- Not sure whether this is what the article is referring to but an intergration SDK for Oculus->Unity does exist. IceWelder [✉] 22:12, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
Adding current Unity & IronSource merger and controversy?
[edit]Both developers and investors hated it
Or maybe create a new article about it and link to that? 126.114.157.227 (talk) 12:26, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
- If it is covered in reliable sources, it should be covered on the Unity Technologies article, where the acquisition itself is addressed. IceWelder [✉] 12:39, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
- That's a good idea, there should be a "Controversy" section added. Maybe merge it with the "litigations" section and find a way to fit in all choice quotes by Riccitiello that received media attention.
- Calling developers who focus on creativity rather than monetization "fucking idiots"
- Contrast his quotes on Unity monetization with the new Unity runtime fee announcemnt "There's no royalties, no fucking around. It's simple." "I do think you could argue that royalties are quite a bit like free-to-play. They sort of hook you and then try to exploit that relationship. That's not what we're trying to do."
- "When you are six hours into playing Battlefield and you run out of ammo in your clip and we ask you for a dollar to reload, you’re really not that price sensitive at that point in time”
- Add a section on Consumerist rating EA as the "Worst Company in America" several times in a row under his leadership, maybe something about controversial EA monetization schemes?
- etc. Meeepmep (talk) 17:39, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- I have added a section with the points Wendten (talk) 00:48, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
He has resigned
[edit]Change to reflect "was" CEO of Unity 2607:F470:6:5001:7885:5178:CE3E:349A (talk) 20:39, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
- I think this should include that he resigned amid the unity pricing controversy. It isn't like he just retired for no reason. Cha5mcha5m (talk) 19:00, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
- IMO the controversy should be elaborated in the career on as "amid controversy" feels like it downplays the absolute shitstorm that took place. It's definitely notable to his career and far more notable than some of the aformentioned events. DarmaniLink (talk) 23:45, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
This Page is Incredibly Incomplete
[edit]Nothing about his tenure in any of the positions is in here. He left Unity "amidst controversy" yet we don't get to see what the hell that means on this page. He is one of the most hated figures in gaming as an individual, when he lead EA it was voted the worst company in America as Meeepmep said above, there should be context for readers to understand his impact. To this day the gaming industry is reacting to the fallout of the pricing changes he tried to enact at Unity. 2600:1700:7F:8580:B147:E14F:EA83:9E64 (talk) 14:17, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
