How to reference?
[edit]Much of the history section of this article is adapted from several lengthy e-mails between Eric Parker and myself in 2004. I was clear that the e-mails were going to be adapted into an article, which at the time I intended for my own web site, which is now static. I used the same materials to make this article instead.
So here's the question: how do you reference this? Some of the same topics were covered in another e-interview he gave in the late 1990s, so there is some overlapping confirmation, but given that the e-mails were sent to me personally, what should I do with them?

In pure journalism they would just use the material. In this case, it seems that you aren't a journalist so can't use that reasoning. Did he acknowledge that he understood you were writing an article, or at least that you intended to publish to the www for public viewing? And if so did he say you could or could not put his comments into the website or article? If he did know and/or acknowledge it, then it seems to me that you are within a common understanding and you can publish. Danellicus (talk) 19:53, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, it was very clear in the first letter that I intended to write an article on the topic using the letters as material for direct inclusion. Also, this is not the only example, as I mentioned there is another similar interview in the references section that touches on some of the same history points. But the question is "how to publish"?
