Move request
[edit]@Ad Orientem: Hey AO, could you move this to Heavy Is the Head (album)? I have tagged it with G6. I thought there was another album of this name with an article (at least, there appears to be an EP, Heavy Is the Head (EP)), but apparently not, as it is only a redirect to Stormzy's discography. - On hold @Ss112 Looks like somebody started that page as an actual article before this one was created. Subsequently it got turned into a redirect. Under those conditions I think it better to merge this page into that one. I don't generally delete redirects where there was at one time an article even if it was stub, if that page was created first. -Ad Orientem (talk) 00:01, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Ad Orientem: Okay, instead of deleting it, can't you move-swap them so that page is at this location and the page I created is at Heavy Is the Head (album)? Isn't that what we do when we wish to preserve history—retain the other article's history, just at a different location? I don't wish to merge my content to something I didn't know existed—credit and all that matters, doesn't it—as they're entirely different articles, and as I was not aware another editor started what looks to be an unsourced stub with one sentence and an infobox on it. This article is clearly the more substantial and actually sourced, so it should probably take primary place. Ss112 00:04, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Ss112 Credit does matter, and they started their article first, albeit as a stub. And it doesn't look like they were just trying to stake out the real estate before somebody else jumped in. They probably should not have created the page with such limited material, and I will drop them a line about that. But I think they were acting in good faith and its possible they intended to return to the page. I am very reluctant to make those kinds of moves as it is effectively not much different from deleting their page. Sorry, but in this case I am not comfortable and I think you may have to live with the credit for expanding the article. Feel free to ask another admin for a 2nd opinion. If they disagree and are willing to make the swap, I won't object. -Ad Orientem (talk) 00:14, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Ad Orientem: I'm not saying their contributions should be deleted—I'm saying the article that still exists and clearly meets WP:NALBUMS should be moved to the primary spot and the other moved here in a move swap. I will ask for a move swap at WP:RM/TR and ping Anthony Appleyard. Ss112 00:20, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Ss112 I've dropped a not on their talk page. -Ad Orientem (talk) 00:23, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Ad Orientem: Okay, but you are still telling the editor that their edits will be "deleted". Moving them out of the way in a swap is not deleting their contributions. Ss112 00:25, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
