French version
[edit]I'm a French video games collector and I have a French version of the game. It is very rare but it exists! You can get a proof here: http://www.megaoldies.net/jeu/15096/Super-Nes/Franco-Hollandaise/Harvest-Moon.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.40.120.91 (talk) 12:05, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Fantastic, thanks a lot :)--Janbt (talk) 17:44, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Moved
[edit]Ok, so you can see that I moved the old page to Harvest Moon series. HM series will be the overall descriptor of the games as a whole, and it will link to every HM game, and every HM game should link back to it. This page is for the Super Nintendo game. I'm updating every link that reffers to the series as a whole (such as The Sims), but not pages that refer to the SNES game by itself. --gakon5 03:17, August 9, 2005 (UTC)
- Related to the above: is it possible to change the name of the article to "Harvest Moon (SNES)" instead of its current title? There are so many Harvest Moon games out (and more released) that labeling this one as "Harvest Moon (game)" gets a bit confusing. --L. 14:48, 3 September 2005 (UTC)
- Let's give it a shot. -- Jelly Soup 21:33, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

trivia thingy
[edit]While many elements of the game were Westernized for its American release, some Japanese references were overlooked. For example, although the church is presented as Christian and includes a cross, townspeople sometimes discuss the church and its religion in Shinto terms, such as referring to the existence of both a "god of the harvest" and a "god of business."
I found out from playing the Japanese version that the church still has the cross and everything. So the religion aspect wasn't changed at all.
On the topic of religion, were any other gods mentioned throughout the game? Also, the golden chicken that one can meet by doing the "bean stalk quest", is he the god of business?
- The Harvest Goddess and the God of Business are the only two talked about, and only the Harvest Goddess is seen. The Golden Chicken might be the GoB, but it's not stated in game. -- Jelly Soup 10:01, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- Then why not change this line to avoid any confusion about the original version? In fact, I've just done so. --70.143.35.160 (talk) 22:51, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Wolves?
[edit]It might be different in other parts of the world, but in my (australian) version, I thought it was foxes that ate your chickens, not wolves.Morgrim 14:54, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- In the PAL version, it was 'wild dogs', which I take to mean wolves. -- Jelly Soup 06:29, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
PSP
[edit]There is no PlayStation Portable version of this game. The article seems to be talking about 牧場物語ハーベストムーン ボーイ&ガール -- Bokujou Monogatari Harvest Moon Boy and Girl, which is NOT a PSP version of this game, Harvest Moon (SNES). Therefore, that piece of the article should be removed. --Serph 04:30, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- A search for Bokujou Monogatari Harvest Moon Boy and Girl shows half of the game databases list it as a port of Harvest Moon (SNES). The other half are new articles saying it's a port of Harvest Moon (PS). We need a bit more to work with here. -- Jelly Soup 05:33, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's just a port of the male and female versions of Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. There are screenshots [Here], and the official page is [here] -- there is only one Bokujou Monogatari game on the PSP, and that is it. Keep in mind, there was never any Boy and Girl version of the original Harvest Moon for the SNES, nor has there ever been any re-releases or ports of the game. --Serph 08:37, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- Good enough for me. -- Jelly Soup 05:10, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

In the Summer, Spring and Fall in the mountains there is a fisher who lets you use his fishing rod to catch fish for food and profit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.253.44.166 (talk) 21:33, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Price
[edit]The line about the high cost of the game should be qualified more to specify whether it was notoriously high-priced when new. --70.143.35.160 (talk) 22:53, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Marriagable Girls
[edit]This section is a mess, some of it is so awkwardly worded it looks like vandalism. I'm going to clean it up a bit. 207.67.97.117 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 16:27, 28 December 2009 (UTC).
Changing the last sentence of this section as well. It appears that staying out late does not cause penalties, except in the case of Eve, as mentioned in a later section, but the sentence appears to be a failed edit. Cleaning it up now, but feel free to revert/edit if there's some sense to this I'm missing. Nursebootsy (talk) 03:54, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Cows
[edit]Pretty sure you can get your cows pregnant and have more. It just takes forever. Can somebody prove me wrong? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.205.253.11 (talk) 20:21, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
Passage of Time
[edit]There's a mention that seasons are thirty days, but how long is an "hour" in game? --49.134.75.113 (talk) 11:17, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
Sourcing Issues
[edit]I noticed that there are no citations at all in the "Gameplay" section. While the gameplay described is fairly accurate (having played the game myself), is it an issue that there are no sources included? I wonder if it would be best to instead condense and summarize this section or remove it entirely for the time being. -Edwardpatrickalva (talk) 22:41, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- Removed that section as it is not appropriate according to WP:GAMEGUIDE MagicPolly (talk) 03:47, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
Why is this part of the "story of seasons" franchise?
[edit]Why isn't it part of the Harvest Moon series? LaceyUF (talk) 00:29, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
- See the article for Story of Seasons for more information. In short, the Harvest Moon series got a rename to Story of Seasons due to legal issues and the former publisher started making their own Harvest Moon games. Accordingly, this being labelled as part of the Story of Seasons series rather than what is currently called the Harvest Moon series is correct. NeverendingPsyburn (talk) 23:56, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
- You wrote "In short, the Harvest Moon series got a rename to Story of Seasons due to legal issues and the former publisher started making their own Harvest Moon games." do you or anyone have a source for this I can read? LaceyUF (talk) 18:32, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
- The Story of Seasons page has a few sources. This one goes over it well. NeverendingPsyburn (talk) 02:41, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
