Citation work
[edit]Some of the references and/or citations on the article are either overciting the work and/or some clauses of the article are undercited, so if someone who can work on citation-fixing of the article (i.e. duplicate citations), then it would be great. 71.57.74.109 13:30, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Playstation 3
[edit]While at The Exchange yesterday, an employee claimed that Namco will be making light gun games for the PlayStation 3. Can anyone verify that information and if so, where should we put it? I know that the PlayStation 3 is getting a new GunCon for Time Crisis 4, but I had not heard much else, so if anyone has additional information about future GunCon 3 games for the PlayStation 3, please place them in an appropriate article. Guncon 2 games compatible with Guncon 3?
[edit]I just read this message. Does anyone have any reliable sources confirming that Playstation 2 Guncon 2 games are compatible with the Guncon 3? If so, that should be mentioned and cited in the article. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 00:00, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- No, they arn't. PS2 Guncon games can operate on a backwards compatable PS3 but they require the use of a Guncon 2, the PS2 games can't detect the Guncon 3, when booting the PS2 game with the Guncon3 in the PS3, the game thinks only a DualShock controller is attached. It behaves as if there is no light gun. Also reliability seems to be an issue. While the Guncon 2 in the PS3 worked fine for Time Crisis 3, in Vampire Knight it behaved erratically. (This was done using an 80GB partial software emulating PS3, not the older models with both EE and GS chips for hardware emulation.) I've not tested the Guncon 1 in the PS3 using the controller adaptor for PS1 games like Point Blank, however I'm fairly confident that it wouldn't work. I've also not yet tested the Guncon 2 with Time Crisis 4 in the PS3, but agian, not confident. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.241.49.17 (talk) 02:01, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for the reply. It's disappointing, but what can you do? I really wish all those Wii Zapper games were also made for the GunCon 3. It seems odd only having one "light gun" game for the PS3. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 02:58, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- The Wii has the advantage, it already comes with the 'gun', you just have the option of getting the fancy plastic shell for it. Meanwhile for PS3 you need the gun as a unique accessory and they don't even sell it seperately. It's a shame that Namco didn't even BOTHER to include compatability with Guncon2 in Time Crisis 4, it would have just been a matter of driver support afterall. Ditto with backwards compatibility on the Guncon3 for PS2 and PS1 games. Sony could have come up with a driver that emulates the older guns without much difficulty. Oh well, they still play fine on PS2 and the PS2 won't disappear for a while. :D —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.241.49.17 (talk) 21:01, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Including the backwards compatable games
[edit]I've listed Time Crisis II, Vampire Night and Endgame as Guncon 1 compatable because they support both models of gun, the packaging indicates both the 'Guncon' and 'Guncon II' markings on the back. There may be exclusive JP or EU PS2 games that support Guncon as well but I'm in Canada and have no access to those titles. (As much as I wish I could get Death Crimoson OX+ on my PS2) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.241.49.17 (talk) 23:03, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- I have removed two entries as Guncon 1 compatable games that people entered; Crisis Zone and Time Crisis 3. I have both games and their boxes and manuals clearly indicate only the Guncon 2 is supported. Games that support both guns feature both the Guncon and the Guncon 2 graphic on the box. Documentation asside, I've also tested both and they do not respond to the Guncon 1. However my experience is only with the NTSC U/C releases of these games and if they are compatable in either NTSC J or PAL releases, I will stand corrected. If they are comparable in other regions, we should be specific in what regions they are supported in to prevent this article from being misleading. 99.241.49.17 (talk) 23:45, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- Time Crisis 3 is compatible with the G-Con 45, or so I've seen on the cases and game manuals.86.149.56.39 (talk) 11:12, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
- EDIT:This link showing the Time Crisis 3 cover in Pal Regions confirms my statement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.149.56.39 (talk) 11:07, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

GunCon2/ps3
[edit]Is it also on the (achoevong/achieved through via partial emulation) roughly with about 80 ish percent Presuming.... of ps2 disc capable ps3 models possible to also use the guncon 2 or only the full or more fill/MOrE complete ps2 hardware incorporating ps3 hardware's to do/use or work with the guncon 2 for compatible games? Obviously this is for the older models of the fat ps3 for both of those types of ps2 disc compatibility 73.53.22.123 (talk) 03:29, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
