Rooftops

Don't want to nitpick, but Rooftops' real title is Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast). 71.229.47.143 (talk) 04:44, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Style consensus for these types of articles has been to list information as presented in-game, with the appropriate article links for clarification where available. -- TRTX T / C 14:41, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

New songs?

[1] Video. The beginnig has some songs you can make out. Should we add them? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.251.192.5 (talk) 19:42, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

As far as I can see, those songs are all allready confirmed 212.83.81.37 (talk) 13:38, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

I thought that there waa something by the cult on there. But im not sure if the cult is on the List. Is it? 75.0.97.103 (talk) 01:39, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Nevermind, it's there. 75.0.97.103 (talk) 01:45, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Australian release date + new songs

Looks like the game will be released in Australia November 12th, the new songs are The Living End "Prisoner of Society", Los Lobos "La Bamba", Lacuna Coil "Our Truth", and Bullet for my Valentine "Scream Aim Fire". Source http://au.gamespot.com/news/6197074.html?part=rss&tag=gs_wii&subj=6197074 59.101.6.104 (talk) 03:07, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Has been noted already in the article, but thanks for the pointer. --MASEM 03:25, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Yet another media release from Activision, only notable things in it are another song (311- "Beautiful Disaster") and an official announcement that Travis Barker is in the game. http://palgn.com.au/article.php?id=12672&sid=6571d259a3d216bc3afd8128de005700 59.101.70.115 (talk) 04:33, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
The 311 song and Travis still havent been added yet, another source for it at http://blogs.smh.com.au/screenplay/archives//019945.html 59.101.4.221 (talk) 08:05, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Euro Release Date

I came across this article about a week ago, stating that GHWT had appeared on Activision's list of European release dates, and was slated for release on 7th November 2008. Here's the link: Link (Apologies that its in French) Dunno if you'd count it as a "reliable source", but see what you think SpinachPuffs (talk) 14:39, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Smashing Pumpkins DLC

IGN have confirmed that the following will be appearing as DLC: 1979, The Everlasting Gaze and the new single G.L.O.W. Link: http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/906/906956p1.html Michael inconceivable (talk) 16:04, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Today is the Pumpkins on disc song, not Bullet

That article also confirms Billy Corgan as a playable character —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.93.100.97 (talk) 21:13, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

There is no official statement that it isn't it. For all we know SP might have two songs like Ozzy and Jimi.--Unknownsage13 (talk) 21:27, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure both songs have been confirmed from various sources, and as we know that Billy Corgan is in the game its not that much of assumption that one will be his boss song, a la Ozzy, Jimi etc.59.101.6.104 (talk) 09:48, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
They said four songs: Today and a DLC three-pack. That's more or less a deconfirmation. I would recommend moving the songs from the Stuff article somewhere else and noting that recent evidence suggests that it may have been bad info, or at least including a footnote. Orcaloverbri9 (talk) 01:55, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Sex Pistols and MC5 confirmed, Overkill to be re-recorded for the game.

http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=55357

Looks like re-recordings of Overkill by Motorhead, Kick out the Jams by MC5, and Pretty Vacant by the Sex Pistols —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.146.48.164 (talk) 14:33, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Song Count

The song count is creeping up slowly, but it's off. 61 songs on the table and right before the table it says 64. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.176.241.81 (talk) 12:26, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Count again.74.181.76.25 (talk) 18:48, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

One to Five Stars

Can someone source that claim? (under Gameplay) —Preceding unsigned comment added by BohemianWikipedian (talkcontribs) 14:20, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Tool songs to be added!!!

According to g4tv.com, parabola, schism, and vicarious will all be playable songs in guitar hero world tour. Below is the link to the page.

Demonfire (talk) 17:10, 5 September 2008 (UTC)demonfireDemonfire (talk) 17:10, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Yes, they are confirmed, but so far there was no words if they will be available in the game itself or as a DLC pack. As it is confirmed which format they will be, people will add to the list, for sure. Garavello (talk) 18:20, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Surely, and according to the ScoreHero.com forum that Neversoft staff even comment on, if the Tool songs were DLC, Neversoft or Activision will have said so by now.Sk8afreak (talk) 19:15, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
I added the Tool songs. If it was DLC, it would specifically state that, just like the REM and Smashing Pumpkins songs. The wording in the press release is really clear in saying that three Tool songs are in the game. Ultrabasurero (talk) 22:07, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Tool to be in Guitar Hero World Tour

http://investor.activision.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=332573

it says the sting will be a playable character and the song Demolition Man will be in the game

it also specifies that 3 songs will be from the band tool and a venue will be modeled after the sound of the songs and artwork of the albums

Songs are: Vicarious, Parabola, Schism —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lpfan13 (talkcontribs) 22:25, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Already added. Shapiros10 contact meMy work 00:58, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Does it make sense to remove the mention of Stewart Copeland and the Police from the paragraph following the songs list? Seems to be the precedent when a likely artist has a song confirmed. LupusPrime (talk) 07:51, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Should we add this as unconfirmed

http://www.ps3informer.com/playstation-3/news/is-this-the-guitar-hero-world-tour-track-list-009167.php

this has almost every song "rumored" to be in the game and so far its pretty accurate as songs are being announced and its short a few songs from the 85 or more mark just thought i bring that to you attention —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lpfan13 (talkcontribs) 08:55, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

No. This article is not the place for rumors (even though this list, which is pretty old, is slowly being confirmed piece by piece). 74.181.76.25 (talk) 09:11, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Waiting for the Answer 2.0

Waiting for the Answer 2.0, a collaborative song between bands Gifted But Twisted and Pleasant Problem, may appear in Guitar Hero 4. The song was uploaded on the Newgrounds Audio Portal, and according to their author comments, "[This song] might be featured in Guitar Hero 4, don't hold us to that but we have been speaking to the music department at Activision." [2]

Don't add this to the song list yet as it has not been confirmed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.186.178.88 (talk) 10:40, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Death Magnetic DLC is Forward Compatible

Source.

Couple of notes:

  • This is full album or bust. Apparently the ala carte system will not be coming to GH:WT (this should be noted somewhere).
  • This content will also work with GHWT when it launches later this year (so the release date for the Death Magnetic on DLC is technically either today or the same day as WT's launch).

Take whatever else info from this you want. -- TRTX T / C 14:52, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Some songs confirmed but not up there...?

it actually states UNDER the confirmed songs table that Satch Boogie became confirmed, why isn't this on the table? and i know for fact that Korn - Freak On A Leash was confirmed. ScoreHero invades Neversoft in about an hour and three quarters, so more should be confirmed by then surely. Sk8afreak (talk) 16:16, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

More new songs

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2008/09/10/exclusive-nine-more-songs-on-guitar-hero-world-tour-including-steve-miller-wings-and-rise-against/ Someone add them please —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.220.246.175 (talk) 19:21, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Added, we already had 2 of them , but that's still 7 new. --MASEM 19:33, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Umm...Song Re-Count?...

I count 85 songs in the table right now, and it says there are 75. Is it 75 songs not including the European tracks? And if not, then isn't that all the songs they said would be on the game? If so, can someone change it? Also, is anyone else ticked that the Red Hot Chili Peppers aren't in the game?!?! --24.63.18.184 (talk) 19:49, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

85? Did the final setlist finally get confirmed? I'll have to scan through the table, but it is likely that the number didn't get updated. It should've just said 85 tracks available in game withe following revealed. Keeping running totals always causes trouble (see the RB DLC artcle running tally) -- TRTX T / C 19:56, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Addendum: Upon further inspection, Masem's count of 75 is accurate.

I'm clearly not good at math. lol...I just re-counted...sorry about that. Now there's still hope for the Red Hot Chili Peppers!!! --24.63.18.184 (talk) 20:10, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Doesn't matter anyways. The game is not limited to 85 songs. The quote says that there will be at least 85 songs, not exactly 85. We won't know the final setlist until they either say "This is the final setlist" or the game comes out. Dfsghjkgfhdg (talk) 04:35, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

If you create a link for a song, make sure the link is to an article about the SONG, not the album. If the song does not have an article, do not link it.Demoman87 (talk) 21:48, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Demolition Man is by Sting

The version of Demolition Man is apparently by Sting (solo), not the Police version.

Source:Second leaked list, (which has been pretty damn accurate so far.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.93.100.243 (talk) 23:14, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

"...Sting will add his voice and likeness as an in-game character. Aspiring frontmen can take the stage as Sting throughout their vocal career or play alongside him as he performs one of The Police classics, "Demolition Man." "
...That doesn't really say what version of the song will be included. Remember, Sting is a member of The Police...I think what they mean is that you will be playing the guitar/bass/drum parts of the Police version with him, or the vocal parts as him. In other words, Sting performs his part of the song, you supply the rest, etc. 15:15, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Someone changed the artist to Sting...read the above comment. I agree with them. The artist should be changed back to The Police. --24.63.18.184 (talk) 19:26, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Done. Let's wait a statement from Activision or a reliable source stating that the song is a new version by Sting. After all, "Message in a Bottle" is listed in GH as "by The Police". Garavello (talk) 20:04, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Satch Boogie confirmed by Scorehero

At their Neversoft conference, Scorehero confirmed Satch Boogie by Joe Satriani. The only source I have is their live blog, but that shouldn't stay up too long. Whenever there is a source I'll post it. For now, here is the Live Blog. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.252.59.196 (talk) 01:16, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

"Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent also confirmed by the trailer video now posted at Scorehero. Additional confirmation by another person liveblogging the Neversoft event for the GH Community forums - http://community.guitarhero.com/forums/55708/forum_topics/119869#forumposts-1534392. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.181.76.25 (talk) 01:24, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
