[edit]Shouldn't most of this page be moved to Rafael Guastavino? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.147.48.75 (talk • contribs) 14:48, 7 December 2005
- Nope ----evrik (talk) 21:08, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- We should have 2 articles. One for the Guastavino tile and one for Rafael Guastavino. Both are relevant articles. This way Rafael Guastavino will be shown at categories such as Category:Spanish architects --Jordiferrer (talk) 16:07, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- I agree, there should be two articles. One for the architect and one for the style. --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 15:45, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
OK, I have splitted them. --Jordiferrer (talk) 11:43, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Wrong year?
[edit]The article states that a vault was made by MIT students in 2012, but the paper (http://architecture.mit.edu/class/guastavino/resources/writings/ramage_text.pdf) is from 2004. 87.239.0.104 (talk) 19:31, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
Just stuff
[edit]Neat subject!! There are some beautiful examples of similar constructions on the campus of Carnegie Mellon Univ in Pittsburgh. The architect was Henry Hornbostel, so it might just be a matter of similar appearances. Either way, this article deserves some nice color photos. PurpleChez (talk) 19:25, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
Guastavino never made "catalan vaults"
[edit]This article should change the term "catalan vault" and "catalan vaulting" by "tile vault". According to the book "Guastavino Vaulting-The Art of Structural Tile" by the researcher of the MIT John Oschendorf, the term "catalan vault" is "politically charged" and Guastavino never called his tile vaults as "catalan vaults" because when he emigrated to the US that name had not yet been invented. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.22.228.226 (talk) 15:44, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
Found MIT video referenced in article, but didn't know how to appropriately link
