Recent undo was because I felt like the game legitimately fell in the appropriate categories. Open to discuss. BabyJonas (talk) 03:40, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed a couple of links for various reasons. I removed the link to Fallen Earth MMOLab Wiki because there's already a popular unofficial wiki that's used by the community (Fallen Earth at Wikia, which I added to the article). The mmolab wiki appears to be basically a straight copy of information from the official site, with no attribution (which was specifically requested by the developers when the Wikia wiki was created). Additionally, the mmolab site appears to be a generic portal site.

I've removed the link to the Fallen Earth Warcry Portal because this appears to be another generic portal site and is not frequented by the community.

I'm leaving FallenEarth.se and the link the the fallenearth.se chat channel because these are the most popular English speaking community sites.

My initial impressions of the MMOLab wiki appear to have been somewhat incorrect. As such I've reverted the owners edit that replaced the most used community wiki with the mmolab one and added the mmolab link back along side it.

Expanding Fallen Earth

[edit]

I want to point out that there's a goldmine of useful information on the FE website. The fan kit has high-res logos and banners, beautiful screenshots and a richly-detailed faction wheel graphic.

The Escapist did a show on FE. IGN reviewed FE. BabyJonas (talk) 11:36, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I like how Sims 3 separated the system requirements into a separate box. BabyJonas (talk) 06:29, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Attempts on my part to include criticisms of Fallen Earth in the Wikipedia article about it have repeatedly been undone until finally, the article has been appropriately locked by Wikipedia administration. Again I would like to point out that Wikipedia is not designed to function as a vehicle for the free and uncritical advertisement of corporate products. When substantial and verifiable criticism of a product is offered, it deserves entry alongside whatever glowing corporate boilerplate is placed there by paid corporate employees. When those employees, backed by the largess of their employer, repeatedly vandalize valid criticisms then their actions constitute bullying and censorship-- actions antithetical to Wikipedia's goals. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pupplesan (talkcontribs) 15:22, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism should only be included if it is notable, for example if it's from a notable critic or writer, or has had independent coverage, and although you suggest that it is substantial you haven't provided any evidence of that. I agree that Wikipedia should not contain "free and uncritical advertisement", but content should be written from a neutral point of view, and be verifiable. Maybe parts of the article (particularly in the lead section) are promotional, but that is a problem that needs to be fixed. snigbrook (talk) 16:08, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edit changes.

[edit]

Hello Pupplesan,

The recent changes to the Fallen Earth Article were not done by anyone from Icarus, but of members of the fanbase that found your artical comments bias and by someone who is angry with the game and the company and NOT someone trying to convey criticism in a neutral manner or in a factual way. Your underlying anger and malcontent for the game has clearly shown through with your remarks and is the reason players from the game decided upon themselves to remove the hateful comments. No one from Icarus sent us, we are not hired goons from "big brother" here to beat anyone up.

The naming policy artical for instance has no justification as it is clearly stats on what and how Icarus will do in regards to stupid, inappropriate, or copyrighted names in their EULA. You seem to have a paticular "beef" with this and I and others have to assume you were "punished" for breaking the EULA. If that is the case, taking out your anger here is not exactly the right way to go at it. That artical and the others similar to it were removed because we saw they were not written by someone with a clear head. Some points maybe valid, but it means nothing when you also spew in your hate and anger at the same time.

You may feel that we (playerbase) have attacked you, in a sense we did, but it was in the defense of keeping the article and the game in good standing here on the site. Criticism is welcomed, but not when it's filled with hate.

The following pages provide some guidelines on the form criticism should take and some of the guidelines regulating criticism: WP:Criticism, WP:Verifiability and WP:NPOV. If Pupplesan's negative input on the game fits these guidelines, it will no doubt be included. I invite him to review the pages and adjust his contributions accordingly. Fair enough and understood. I am not yet by any means an experienced editor of Wikipedia content and in the future will adhere to the guidelines you have provided. My intent was to balance the article but you are correct, my edits were indeed lacking citation and therefore authority. Absent notable criticism I shall refrain from further editing and when such criticism appears notable I will submit it to open debate prior to inclusion. Thanks for the very specific assistance. 174.50.66.113 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 23:42, 26 February 2010 (UTC).[reply]
