Please add a section on how this game has encountered numerous problematic glitches, bugs, freezes. Just google FIFA 13 freeze and you should be able to come up with all the material you need. Should be a very helpful consumer advice + give EA a kick in the backside they need to fix this game up. It has been going on since FIFA 13 launches and EA still hasn't manage to fix it. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 175.144.143.12 (talk) 05:43, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

FIFA Soccer 13FIFA 13 – The game is only released as "FIFA Soccer" in North America, and is released simply as "FIFA insert year here" everywhere else. This article should be titled "FIFA 13" to represent a world-wide view of the topic. In addition, all the other FIFA articles are named the international way rather than the North American way, and so this move has the advantage of maintaining continuity with the previous articles, too. ...and they market it as "FIFA 13" in most countries. Not that that argument is in any way policy-based, but anyway. Basalisk inspect damageberate 16:29, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, http://www.fifa13.com should be included on FIFA 13 wiki page because it represents FIFA 13 news and the website provides credible news information regarding FIFA 13.

Candidate for protection?

[edit]

Speculation appears to have run rampant on this page, and almost nothing is cited or sourced. In fact, information that will not be released until Gamescom in mid August has apparently made itself known to a few people, and has manifested in this article.

The fact of the matter is this article has become a rumour-mill and laughably inaccurate. People who wish for something (as in a league, team or feature) to be in this game believe they can make it so by simply editing the Wiki on it and showing their friends on FIFA 13 forums. It would be wise to protect this joke of an article until Gamescom. On this page it says the article is indeed protected, but it is, in reality, not. 65.186.89.59 (talk) 21:42, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, the article is just getting hit by idiots who think that they can add any old unsourced rumour to the page. The page definitely needs semi-protection until at least FIFA 13's release.--RedBullWarrior (talk) 13:11, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

FIFA 13 Page Cleanup

I have cleaned up the mess that was created. Any further uncited edits and attempts to ruin the page will result in me reverting the page to this current version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.129.165.175 (talk) 04:14, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested Protection

[edit]

I requested a temporary full protection of FIFA 13's Wikipedia article, in response to the nonstop vandalism that is going on around here. Wikipedia is not a place for making wishlists and it certainly isn't a place for people to confuse the general public. Information must be provided to the reader as accurately as possible. Until the Wikipedia board decides the fate of FIFA 13's article, I will do my best to ensure that unsourced information will not go unaccounted for. --Nadia (talk) 00:03, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I understand the rationale for saying that, but oftentimes celebrity twitter pages and facebook pages do in fact break new information to the public. I think the days of blanket statements regarding social media are over. matt91486 (talk) 15:08, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

August 26, 2012 Changes

[edit]

I have cleaned the article. If you want to add info about the international covers, please provide sources. Secondly, Copa America was not mentioned as a playable tournament, or its equivalent, in that link. Thirdly, according to Gamespot, the game will be released on 10 platforms, not 12, so that excludes the Mac OSX platform and Xperia Play. Last but not least, national teams and leagues have not been confirmed yet so let's not get carried away.

Please let's not lead this article to another page protection. If this uncontrolled rate of editing continues, I cant see anything but page protection.--Nadia (Kutsuit) (talk) 22:54, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WP:OWN. I understand the need for sourced information, but information comes in a variety of places. I've seen 4-5 different places confirming the addition of the Saudi league, for example. There's a weird gray area with what are acceptable reliable sources, so in many cases information is known to be true before it is published in one of the limited number of publications deemed acceptable by that standard. Guidelines are guidelines, but official information in cases like this is often released directly to blogs, forums, and facebook pages. That doesn't make it less official or correct, it merely means that Wikipedia's guideliness are sometimes unnecessarily rigid. matt91486 (talk) 18:09, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate what you're saying, Matt, but even the sources provided are coming from the most absurd places. For instance, the page for this article (FIFA 13) has been recently edited to include a so-called official list of national teams and stadiums, based on what someone said on a message board. That's not a reliable source. If it comes from FIFPlay or FIFASoccerBlog then it might hold better value than what someone says on EA's message boards. Another problem is that the source is in conflict with the article. For example, the article was edited to mention that Galatasaray's stadium is in the game, even though the source itself doesn't say that. So if you couple the fact that the sources are unreliable/weak with the fact that the info is in conflict with that source as well, then you end up with a very messy article. I think page protection is the only solution because it seems like this article is being repeatedly altered at an unhealthy rate, which is misleading to the public/readers. --Nadia (Kutsuit) (talk) 19:05, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, by all means we shouldn't take individual speculation as sourcing, of course. I apologize if I implied that. There's just a weird gray area in which Wikipedia doesn't really allow for sourcing from new media, which is a certain irony in a forward-thinking organization that has embraced the internet in the way that it has. I was more referring along the lines before when there was a track listing on an official facebook page that was denied for inclusion - that's something that is coming from an official source in an accurate fashion, but guidelines just don't permit its use. However, if it were in a published press release delivered via a more conventional channel, it would be acceptable. I'm genuinely not sure how much we can expect to be "reliably" sourced by more traditional news media outlets before the game is released, since, as you mentioned, pretty much everything is going to be revealed by FIFASoccerBlog, etc. matt91486 (talk) 23:00, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The "covers" subheading currently contains this text:

Covers

[edit]

The global cover for the game features Lionel Messi,[1] whilst St James' Park has been included as the background. Other location-based covers will be used, as in previous years, and will most likely feature Messi and other players from the respective region(s). Joe Hart will appear on the UK cover along with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.[2] The Middle Eastern cover will feature Abdullaziz Al-Dosari, along with Joe Hart and Lionel Messi.[3]

I believe it should be changed to this:

Done. The source provided above explicitly states that Camp Nou will not be included, and the source provided on the article does not mention Camp Nou at all. UK's BEST PLAYER

Many experts have argued who is the best player to have ever played the game of fifa. In the UK a local based newspaper reported that Michael Docherty, a gamer from glasgow was britains best player on the PS3 version of the game. Consistantly at the top of the online rankings each year and fighting for places in the Fifa international world cup. Although he is yet to make an appearance at the world cup due to work commitments and the lack of qualification oppertunities near glasgow, sponsorship is expected to take him to the finals this year where he will be one of the favourites to take the title for the first time. 86.172.5.108 (talk) 13:53, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi.
I'm afraid this content would not gain consensus for addition to the article, sorry. The article is about the game, not its players, and this, I'm sorry, isn't notable enough for inclusion in an encyclopedia article here.
I recommend you have a look around for some online gaming sites, fan sites or player sites that might be interested in this. I don't know if it would be any help but there's one here: FIFA13 Wiki which I found in a quick google search, and there are probably others.
Thanks, and good luck Begoontalk 14:21, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Regular Vandalism on 1 December 2013

[edit]

It's come to my attention that this page is being vandalised often, particularly related to the so-called "Duplication Glitch". The page needs to be put back to normal, and then possibly locked.

Soundtracks

[edit]

Relevant information is being removed by removing the track listings. In some cases, the entire section marked soundtrack has been deleted. The defense is the rule about non-notable soundtracks, but the very fact that each game in the series for over the past decade has had a soundtrack section (unless deleted) should be quite the sign that the soundtracks are notable. While slightly a tautology (something only being notable because it is noted), the fact that sections when there are news articles written about that version's soundtrack should be the very definition of proving independent commentary. The rule being cited is for non-notable soundtracks. If the phrase in the rule about not having a track-listing in the article applies to notable soundtracks as well, that should be made clearer. 2601:43:0:3305:F1EC:FD3B:374F:38A8 (talk) 20:04, 7 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
