Talk:Elf Bowling
(TM)?
[edit]Is this really needed? I don't see other trademarked articles on wikipedia slapped with this everywhere. --SeizureDog 06:06, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- Personally, I think they're completely unneccisary. --DMAJohnson 22:38, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- They are unnecessary --particularly in an encyclopedia article-- and I've removed them. --Bobak 00:31, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Spyware
[edit]Does this game have any spyware? It says it didnt have a virus, but I remember hearing that it had spyware? Does anyone know? --Richy 09:48, 21 August 2005 (UTC)
It definetly doesn't. While its true there was a legitimate controversy about it having spyware, it was never more than rumor. Its a bit harsh that the article calls it a "spyware computer game" and having the "(may contain spyware)" at the end. Fcrick 07:55, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
Spyware:any software that covertly gathers information about a user while he/she navigates the Internet and transmits the information to an individual or company that uses it for marketing or other purposes.
Elf Bowling does not gather ANY information. When the game is played it makes a browser request to a blank web page. The web page is used to count how many times the game has been played. It is a simple counter of aggregate play. It does not gather or transmit any data. You can see this happen if you enable a firewall. When the game is played it will request the web page. Elf Bowling has never been nor can it ever seriously be considered spyware.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.160.210.234 (talk • contribs) .
Yes, elf bowling does have spyware. An Internet Explorer plugin called "NavExcel". This is dangerous spyware. This game should not be installed by anyone onto any computer. Ever.
Sorry about deleting your comment on "Elf Bowling" i guess you have a right to free speach. But the NEW version of Elf Bowling contains Spyware called NavExcel as you can see from my last post! Thanks
How does this improve the article? DudeWithAFeud (talk) 04:24, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
Cell Phone?
[edit]Under Categories, it says there's a cell phone version of this game. I've never seen it, has anyone else?

Controversy Section Needs Revision
[edit]I've never played elf bowling myself but the brief "Controversy" section is either incomplete or a nasty joke. I'm commenting the section out for the time being.
