US release
[edit]Is a US release possible? --ÄtΘmicR€£igionesїgñ
- Probably, but I don't think the chances are high. What would they do? Cross-language servers like FFXI has? I doubt it. --Zeno McDohl (talk) 23:19, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
Not as hard as you might think. Take Guild Wars and World of Warcraft, for instance. The upside with Dragon Ball Online is that it has many, many Dragon Ball fans around the world already. Established fanbase = not releasing being a stupid idea. It's still too far to see, but I believe the chances of a U.S. rel they likely will). Some games require a billing adress ican't be billed, period. So if the Korean game limits billing to Asia you're basicly screwed.
- I'm pretty sure they wouldn't port it to 360 if it wasn't in english. —The preceding comment is by 206.202.96.27 (talk • contribs) 206.202.96.27: Please sign your posts!
The worldwide Dragonball Fanbase is too large to ignore, with games such as the "Sparking" series doing well in games charts not only in Japan, but America and the Europe also it would be a very unprofitable and ill judged idea not to release an English language version at somepoint, but when that will happen is anyone's guess. --JinecouO.N.E 13:12, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- Its coming out for the xbox 360, confirmed by the teaser trailer —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rdollaz23 (talk • contribs) 21:58, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

There is not going to be any Xbox360 version 195.194.68.22 (talk) 10:22, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- It has been confirmed that the game will be released on both the XBox 360 and PC.

will it come out in europe?? Quite frankly, I see NO reason as to why it will not be released in the US. It isn't that hard to bring up some translators and translate the entire thing. Might cost a bit more money if they want it to be good translation, and not crappy like the large amount of free MMOs coming out of Korea. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.164.15.82 (talk) 05:31, 7 March 2008 (UTC) It's not unlikely that it will be released worldwide off franchise poularity alone, with chances going up depending on the sucess of the game in Japan and Korea. Nexon has used that business model for years. But I think now would be a good time for us to remind ourselves that wikipedia is not a crystal ball.24.181.243.83 (talk) 01:10, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Star-Man:"It will be coming to U.S, X-box is an american game system. And there has been proof from major sites that it will come out. How ever if it does not I think it's leagal to play in UK form if THEY'RE having it come out." (sat, july 5th,2008.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.196.161.192 (talk) 21:04, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- I could do Uk form,as long as it is english. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.178.176.128 (talk) 17:28, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
@Star-Man More people would rather have it on the PC and not xbox, who cares if xbox is a popular american game system its better off on PC. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.185.29.75 (talk) 00:36, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
Is it going to be the official follow up to DBZ?
[edit]I think clarifying this subject would be a nice treatment for this article, and that would look like a job for the Japanese- speaking Wikipedians. Not to mention, it would finally shut all of those DBAF fanboys up. And the ones who argue about DBGT. Jeez, that's a very brief description about the Web DB war.--Kim Kusanagi 05:19, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- There isn't much information about the storyline yet, but it seems it's purposely set in the far future so that it doesn't have to address whether DBGT took place or not. Kariteh 08:24, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- I read it completely ignores GT —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.202.54.10 (talk) 06:33, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
- Well, apparently Toriyama is supervising the project, albeit that may not mean much in the end. Since it is far in the future, it probably won't have many contradictions with the original story, hence it won't be much hard to accept DBO as the official follow up, albeit a huge amount of fans probably won't.--Faitudum (talk) 20:22, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
actually it doesnt ignore dragonball gt, it based after the whole dbz series in the future —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.225.28.114 (talk) 10:38, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
It's actually a follow up to the Dragonball Manga. As such anything "anime-only" won't exist in Dragonball Online (including Dragonball GT). You can tell by the way some of the characters are drawn. Trunks has purple hair. Piccolo (and other Nameks) only have four fingers on a hand. And Korin is blue. --24.10.182.89 (talk) 15:52, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- Dragon Ball GT is canon so this is after GT. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.178.176.128 (talk) 17:24, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
Don't be foolish, GT is not canon because it was designed and made by Toei. The Dragon Ball franchise within the manga is the only canon material, being Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, as in, in Z Goku and the Z-fighters face off against major villains Vegeta, Freeza, Cell, and Buu, and only them.
Dragon Ball Online is also not declared canon. Anything that is not officially made by and only Akira Toriyama is declared non-canon. End of story!!!!!!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.105.16.176 (talk) 04:34, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
Japanese incorrect...
[edit]Hello, I was contacted via PM about an edit I made earlier today to the article; basically the kana next to the words Dragon Ball Online say 'I like big breasts as well as stiff vagina' and the kana by Time Patrol Trunks reads something equivalent to 'All your base are belong to us' in Japanese. I simply assumed that these were not relevant to the article, but I apologise for failing to mention the nature of the edit when I made it. Ashiyura 14:12, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Beta
[edit]It states that the beta was tested in the summer, any developments on that? Atomic Religione 18:28, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Removed Sentence
[edit]I removed this sentence from the article:
Due to the high level of supervision from Akira Toriyama, as well as the involvement of Bird Studio and Shueisha, DBO may actually be considered the true, canon continuation of the Dragon Ball manga.
This sounds more like someone's opinion. MastaFighta (talk) 13:49, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well, we know it has no correlation to the anime, and is being developed as a direct follow-up to the original Dragon Ball manga. Toei Animation also has absolutely no involvemenet. A recent Game Watch article also makes several comments such as, "delve into the world of the manga", and "set about 250 years after the Dragon Ball manga", even going so far as to pointing out that it shows the manga-style sound effects during combat.
- Technically speaking, I believe this is the only follow up to the Dragon Ball manga, with the possible exception of some of Toriyama's gag-manga. It would seem that, any way you slice it, on one hand, you've got Dragon Ball (anime) -> Dragon Ball Z -> Dragon Ball GT, while on the other you have, Dragon Ball (manga) -> Dragon Ball Online. WtW-Suzaku (talk) 04:35, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- How so? If it's set after the end of DBZ (which was also a manga, remember), the the storyline goes DB -> DBZ -> DBO. Very simple. This follows the Dragon Ball manga(s) in that it follows his storyline as established in the DB and DBZ mangas. Seems obvious. actually it should be re-added since the trailer shows goku fighting against with vegeta with the player which proves that it is cannon —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.225.28.114 (talk) 10:40, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- There is no DBZ manga, the events of DBZ are included in the DB manga. DB > DBO —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.35.77.212 (talk) 11:15, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

US Release Date - November 2009?
[edit]Proof or it didn't happen. ;P
But seriously, I wanna see like...an article... A screenshot... SOMETHING! The article itself doesn't indicate Dragon Ball Online will come here (to the US) in 2009 as far as I can tell... Same goes for Canada, Europe, and Australia. It looks to ME like someone just tossed up some random dates... ~ Joseph Collins [U|T|C] 07:39, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- Someone added that once again. Whoever did it, please share your source with the rest of the world, or we will remove that from the article.--Faitudum (talk) 00:13, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- It seems like 71.119.139.32 keeps on adding this date, albeit he simply won't include a source in any of his edits. If you are 71.119.139.32, please tell us where are you taking this information from.--Faitudum (talk) 23:40, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- Someone added it as November 2009 with the [dbmmo.com] tag. First, this is not a proper way to use a reference, as that links to no specific information on whether this could be true or not. Secondly, I did find somewhere on DBMMO's forums mentioning November as possible launch date, but no source was provided. I recall seeing December as the launch date (for open beta) on CJ Internet's most recent earnings report, although I can't find the url anymore. If anyone has it, feel free to update the article.--Faitudum (talk) 15:46, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Tried adding Semtember 09 for the Korean beta as its said right here,http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/8982/117b9b164a9958a6990b03.jpg70.153.248.150 (talk) 06:10, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- Good idea, anon. It seems that the official website lists the closed beta as beginning later this month. That' obviously much more of a reliable information than the educated guess of someone from DBMMO.--189.61.34.224 (talk) 17:04, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Transformations
[edit]A gameplay video shows the transformations for each race although it may be only for those specific classes of the race. For Majin, they transform into Kid Buu like form For Human, a Super human which resembles a Super Saiyan For Namek, Giant Form which Piccolo did in Dragon Ball here's gameplay videos of them:
So can we have information added on these? --Victory93 (talk) 23:12, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
- The official names for each transformation are "Super Saiyan", "Great Namek", and "Pure Majin" for anyone looking to add this information. Also, someone wrote in an edit that was later deleted that it's a rumor that the Humans are 1/2 Saiyan. While the Humans aren't 1/2 Saiyan they are officialy some part Saiyan as has been said in-game and during certain interviews. Citrinate (talk) 17:49, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Note* It isn't a super saiyan look a like transformation. The actual skill name is super saiyan, and can be achieved at level 50. NeroJinous (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 09:50, 24 November 2009 (UTC).
No worldwide release? Tawain and Japan December 5th and March 8th?
[edit]I looked at the reference provided under Google Translate. It doesn't say anything about there being no worldwide release. (I am aware they haven't announced a worldwide release, but they have also mentioned an interest in doing so if the game is well-recieved.) Also, where's the proof of those being the release dates for the Taiwan and Japanese versions? I don't see a reference for those. —Preceding unsigned comment added by VGman (talk • contribs) 04:58, 14 September 2010 (UTC) Juni/Juli 2011 in germany Dragonball Online

"Last five years"
[edit]"It has been stated that Toriyama has been working on character designs for this project for the last five years."
This is a sentence that people like to throw around a lot regarding this game, and I think the first time I saw it was easily before 2010, so the accuracy is extremely debatable. It's also a difficult statement to use in a lasting encyclopedia article, because this page (which basically no one pays attention to) would have to be updated with "last six years" and "last seven years" and we don't actually know when he stopped or when he started. It was also a stronger statement back before the game came out, but now that it's here there's not much point in including it. I've changed it to "has worked on character designs for this project for over five years." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Styrofoamblade (talk • contribs) 08:56, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
Category:Parallel universes (fiction)
[edit]The article mentions that trunks creates other timelines using time travel. I think this would be a moderately improtant aspect to a game that features a lot of time travel. Would it be appropriate to add? CensoredScribe (talk) 03:25, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
