I'm pretty sure by now most users watching this page have seen or noticed the new teal D+ logo being used on the platform and websites in some regions. Now, there has been some confusion on which logo we should consistently use as the predominant main logo in the infobox here and on the various templates and navboxes. It has become apparent that this change to the teal version is synonymous with the integration of Hulu in the United States and is featured there along with select international regions, although not in all and the original logo used since launch is still used in other regions, such as the Phillipines as one editor pointed out, while the teal version is used in the UK where Hulu is not but Star is. The teal version is also not used for the Disney+ Hotstar service, despite some editors attempting to include the solo file on those related articles. There is also relevant commentary of the teal logo in this article and having the teal logo itself right next to that text as opposed to at the top would compliment readability and visible interest for readers reading about the logo who may not immediately see it, while the original launch logo is currently placed within the launch details so it would not be deleted due to frequent logo changes in the infobox.
I think we need to establish a consensus on which logo we ought to use: 1) the original D+ logo used from the 2019 launch which is still frequently used on the service and sites in select regions and is what the service is most recognizable as, or 2) the newly WP:RECENT teal version which is primarily made to compliment Hulu, which is a not a service used in every international region and is essentially just a US-exclusive. It's pretty debatable to me but according to Logopedia it said that: As of Good Friday, this logo (used from 2019-2024) is still used on very few markets, as well as Disney+ Hotstar on available markets, but it will be expected to completely fade out during the rest of 2024. But I know Star is an international hub for Disney+ while Hulu is an American hub for the aforementioned streaming service.
So for instance, i think we shall use the 2024 logo (most regions) because it's so refreshing, so unique, and so modern than the 2019 one (which still remain in select regions). All those in favour!! SolshineBenie (talk) 15:30, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Logopedia is a Fandom wiki, which is not a reliable source and I don't think we should be using that as a judgement call here. Which specific markets is it referring to? Calling a recent logo "refreshing", "unique", and "modern" compared to the one that has been used and commonly associated with the company and service for years all because of a recent change raises my WP:RECENTISM concerns for personal preference rather than critical analysis of what readers would predominantly expect from this article. Oh okay. I understand what you are saying about which the Disney+ logo that we can use whenever it's the 2019 one or a 2024 one.
Disney+ is an American product. We always use the name and logo used in the country from which something originated from, whether it be a film, a product, a company, or a brand (except in extraordinary cases like TikTok). InfiniteNexus (talk) 04:48, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
