Australian Release of Creature Editor

[edit]

Australians were prevented from downloading the Creature Creator unlike the rest of the world. The following email from EA Support in Australia states:

Original Message --------

Subject: RE: Purchasing spore from the Australian EA Store site Date: Tue, 15 Jul 2008 14:09:02 +1000 To: XXXXXX From: Games - EA <EASupport@sirius.com.au>

Hi XXXXXXX,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately the Spore Creature Creator is not going to be available for digital download within Australia.

The Creature Creator will be released in full with the retail edition of the Spore game.

Instead of offering the Creature Creator as a purchase, EA will be offering the Spore Creature Creator FREE in a promotion at the end of July. Stay tuned to http://www.electronicarts.com.au/en-au/ for more information.

Regards,

EA Support —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.106.79.81 (talk) 03:14, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Flight

[edit]

"However, on February 13, 2008, a hands on preview revealed that wings still give creatures the ability of limited flight. No pictures have yet been released. [28]"

The limited flight you're talking about is called "glide" in the game. Didn't edit because I'm not sure whether it's relevant.

[edit]

As of Dec 13, 2007, links 47 - 50 are down. Anyone know

Source of the october release date ?

Failed "good article" nomination

[edit]

Upon its review on January 21, 2008, this good article nomination was quick-failed because it:

has been the subject of recent ongoing edit wars or is the subject of a future event

thus making it ineligible for good article consideration.

This article did not receive a thorough review, and may not meet other parts of the good article criteria. I encourage you to remedy this problem (and any others) and resubmit it for consideration. If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to take it to a Good article reassessment. Thank you for your work so far.— Jedravent (talk) 18:19, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've been making edits. I suspect like the regular Spore article we'll have to wait until the game is actually released. JAF1970 (talk) 18:30, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Biota Questions

[edit]

I have just published a series of questions put to Will Wright at NASA Ames (January 26-27, 2008);

http://www.biota.org/podcast/biota_wright_rucker.mp3

I posted this in the game article originally. The information in the audio may be more applicable here. If the scholars would like to review it for any interesting information here and give references if applicable. Many thanks. --Barbalet (talk) 21:04, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll listen again and post the budget stuff, etc. JAF1970 (talk) 16:38, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for your work on this. --Barbalet (talk) 20:46, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Australian stuff again

[edit]

Again, this is unrelated to _Electronic Arts_, Will Wright, or Maxis. Other methods of distribution are irrevelent. It's borderline advertising, and every store's had its own distribution of the physical product. JAF1970 (talk) 16:18, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You've refused to mediate it in the talk page. JAF1970 (talk) 14:11, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Contradicting sentence

[edit]

On April 18, 2007, Civilization IV lead designer Soren Johnson joined EA Maxis on April 2 to work on Spore.[16][17]

Was it April 2 or April 18? I've changed it to just say April...the specific date is not noteworthy anyway. 162.136.192.1 (talk) 22:06, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Out of Date

[edit]

Some sentences in this article are out of date. For example, there is a mention of galactic edition going to be released instead of have been released. Sorry for my english! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.204.69.151 (talk) 20:43, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How many countries...

[edit]

In the Galactic Edition in some countries, the National Geographic documentary was not included.

A few things:

1. How many didn't recieve it? I know Australia, for one. 2. Considering the Australian Spore Site is just in fact the American one, would this be considered false advertising, as it was never stated that it would not be available in Australia?

I am going to quick-fail this GA nomination because the article contains an unresolved {{merge to}} tag. This indicates some form of conflict between editors, and it counts as an unresolved, valid cleanup banner (quick-fail #3). --Mûĸĸâĸûĸâĸû (blah?) 01:50, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

wow.... ok... why didn't i see the merge tag before? didn't think i was that blind... --ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 04:03, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
