Lets not have the infobox say a season
[edit]Currently WMO has no official naming list, agency, nor season set up in the region. due to this i will remove the "2021-22 medicane season" entirely — Preceding unsigned comment added by HavocPlayz (talk • contribs) 17:16, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- @HavocPlayz: read these as they define a medicane season. NoahTalk 17:40, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
Yes but there is no actual season unless the WMO aka the official agency worldwide that sets up the basins officially sets up one User:Havocplayz
- The WMO is not God of the tropical cyclones. The season is defined by these reliable, scholarly sources based upon climatology which is all we need to say a season exists. Just because the WMO does not explicitly define the Met Sea as a basin does not mean there isn't a season. NoahTalk 17:47, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
Just keep it off the infobox for now and we will wait what the people say on the main page of these systems. Its better to keep them off for the time being User:HavocPlayz — Preceding undated comment added 17:50, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- No. Since Medicanes do have a documented season (as defined in multiple scholarly studies), it should be mentioned. We are NOT limited to using only "official" or the "most official" sources. Not only that, but imposing such limits on ourselves is a gross violation of multiple Wikipedia policies, such as WP:COVERAGE, WP:DUEWEIGHT, WP:NEUTRAL, etc. Some people need to rid themselves of the idea that we MUST use ONLY the most official sources. It's nonsense and detrimental to the health of the encyclopedia. We are not the servants of the WMO, the NWS, or any other governing body or agency. And we should not behave as if we are. Im not saying we are servants of the WMO or any of the agencys and you bringing that up was kinda uncalled forUser:HavocPlayz — Preceding undated comment added 18:04, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
Nearchus
[edit]The name Nearchus does not fit with the naming system from the Greek, Cypriot and Israeli names list.Lacunae (talk) 20:49, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
Im not aware of the lists but as far as we are aware, Metero Greece did indeed assign it the name "Nearchus", however it is more commonly known as Apollo. if you can provide the list you mention that would be helpful HavocPlayz (talk)

Apollo is not apart of the EWS nor the Atlantic Hurricane season. any storms here are similar to the south Atlantic situation. but editors here refer to this as a part of the 2021-22 medicane season. see the reasons listed in the dissucsion above. HavocPlayz (talk)
Adding the naming section to "Meteorological History"
[edit]I think the Aftermath part should be kept, but the naming section should be removed from it and put in the meteorological history section. --HurricaneKappa (talk) 18:33, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
No. Naming and Aftermath have been merged in every medicane article. i prefer them merged since its easier since the naming issues are always disscussed afterwards --HavocPlayz
Apollos peak
[edit]Currently it looks like Apollo has entered a weakening trend with convection waning and its low level center fully exposed. its convection is displaced to the east and its been like this for the past 12 hours — Preceding unsigned comment added by HavocPlayz (talk • contribs) 19:44, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
Image vote

Yet again vote for the image you prefer.--HurricaneKappa (talk) 21:00, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
Ima say Image 2. its more zoomed in and looks nicer as well HavocPlayz
- First off, why the edit warring over the image again? The (two provided images) are basically the same except one is slightly more zoomed in. this is getting petty. Also,@HurricaneKappa:, talk page discussions aren't predetermined in when they will be closed. That all said, Image 2 is better for the article. 🌀CycloneFootball71🏈 |sandbox 00:40, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
Oh, sorry, i'll remove the timing thing. HurricaneKappa (talk) 01:16, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
Source for damage total?
[edit]Where did this damage total come from? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:31, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
Should we add a track for Apollo
[edit]is there any way to get track made for Apollo based on what we know so far? HavocPlayz (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 14:01, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
- For a track map, we need track data for the storm. Unfortunately, no agency or known storm tracking sources have published track data for Apollo at this time. LightandDark2000 🌀 (talk) 22:56, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
Its a bummer. The fact of all the systems we know to have existed and developed between now and 2000, only one has a known track which is Rolf. Kinda sad the agency's don't publish the data given how rare these systems are I HavocPlayz (talk)
