He definitely needs a new pic. He fights for real now. SChaos1701 (talk) 05:28, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

"Lesnar, who describes himself as a conservative and a supporter of the US Republican Party, subsequently admitted that he lied about the quality of care he had received in Canada in an attempt to undermine health reform in the United States."[88] This statement should be taken out of the article since there is no reliable basis in support of Brock saying that he lied. The article referenced by the author is a seemingly biased canadian sports blogger who doesn't actually cite any known quotes or timelines for Lesnar making these quotes. I looked all over the internet for a reliable source to support the claim that Lesanr lied to support his political views and I couldn't find one. In fact, on the ESPN interview posted on January 20th[1], he continues to bash the quality of healthcare he recieved at the Canadian hospital.Socalyard (talk) 17:51, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

I took it out and replaced it with a more neutral wording and reference. While I agree with Lesnar's political outlook, I don't think Wikipedia is the place to post in support of or against his views on this subject. MudskipperMarkII (talk) 05:30, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

Friendly fixes?

I have a few fixes that I am currently unable to do because of the semi-protected status of this article:

1. Is he really active on the Viking roster? or could that bit be excluded from this article? 2. in the section about his finishing moves in "wrestling", could we re-title that heading to "In Professional Wrestling"? This would be a good place to distinguish between his WWE and collegiate wrestling careers... 3. The bit in the bio box on the top of the page reads: "Rank NCAA Division I Wrestling"... that needs clarification or removal IMO... just doesn't mean anything to me. 24.63.105.208 (talk) 03:45, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

  • To clarify the issue with the IP, there are two heavyweight championships (WWE heavyweight Championship & World heavyweight Championship) within WWE due to the company operating as two promotions (WWE Raw & WWE SmackDown). The WWE Championship is currently the top title in WWE Raw, while the World heavyweight Championship is currently the top title in WWE SmackDown. Brock Lesnar is the youngest person ever to be WWE Champion at age 25, while Randy Orton is the youngest person ever to be World heavyweight Champion at age 24. The two records remain.--UnquestionableTruth-- 02:25, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Lol at the idiot. Anway, speaking of records, can someone add the ironic fact that not only Brock beat Rock for the WWE title, he also broke Rock's record for being the youngest WWE champion at the very same time? Hitmonchan (talk) 01:18, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

I think the division bit should be displayed like this: Heavyweight (206 lb - 265 lb), because just having 265 is a bit pointless, seeing as you can see that from his weight. --92.3.211.139 (talk) 00:16, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

steroid/gowth hormone allegations

I find the evidence pretty shakey on calling the pills he was arrested for as being "growth hormone". First, you can't get growth hormone in pill form. it doesn't exist. Second, growth homrone is STILL ILLEGAL, so if he had growth hormone in any form, he would have the charges changed but not dropped completely. it looks to me like the detective that is only vagually mentioned in that TSG article simple was ignorant of what was going on, and the pills were probably just some sort of bobdybuilding supplment that advertised as some sort of growth enchancer. I'm not surew how I should go about fixing this. If I include the detective claims and then peresent the evidence why that doesnt make sense, it sounds like personal research or whatever. But its really just simple statements of facts.Whatzinaname (talk) 19:47, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

why was my updated pic removed??

i added a newer picture to the article and i made sure it wasnt copyrighted but it was deleted and the article was reverted back to the one from when he was a pro wrestler why did this happen --DZ987 (talk) 03:02, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

The wrestler image was reverted back because the newer image was already deleted. I never saw the image but I'm guessing that it did not have the proper license. Images of living persons not only need to be copyright-free, it must be proven that that these images are given an acceptable license and that the author of said photographs gives his full written permission for that license. Unless you were the person that took that image, it is unacceptable to have a copyrighted image of a living person without the verified express consent of the copyright holder, regardless of it being free or not.
There are some services that have those licenses available like Flickr. But if an image doesn't have one of the acceptable licenses and you are not the copyright folder, you must follow the procedure described at Commons:OTRS. Check Josh Barnett's, Fedor Emelianenko's or even the current one in this article to see what type of license the image must have for it to be accepted at Wikipedia. Lesnar return in 2012

While the citation of 108 is for the most part correct, it appears to mention more that what is said in the actual article. For example, while Dana White did say that Lesnar had part of his colon removed and he expected him to return in 2012, Lesnar's next fight has not been mentioned. At this point, there is no source that indicates that when Lesnar returns he will fight Mir or Nelson for top contender in the HW division. This may have been true in November, but now it is no more than speculation and a rumour. At this point, nobody knows who or when Lesnar's next fight is — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.73.84.205 (talk) 21:11, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

The MMA WikiProject has agreed that future bouts should not be added to fight history tables until after the fight has completed. There are any number of reasons a fight could be cancelled, including injuries and illness. The fight can be added to the prose of the article stating that the fight has been signed, and hopefully adding some background about the fight and how it came about. However, it should not be added to the fight history table and will likely be removed if it is. --TreyGeek (talk) 17:23, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

Match against Overeem declared No Contest

Brock Lesnar's mma fighting record shows that he lost to Overeem. However, the result was later changed to No-Contest by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after Overeem tested positive for drug test in a ufc 146 press conference surprise drug test. In Overeem's page, the result is listed as No Contest. I think it should be changed to No Contest here as well. 114.130.8.8 (talk) 09:16, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

Lesnar's UFC record should be updated to include that not only was he the longest reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion but he also holds the record (Tied with Tim Sylvia and Randy Couture) for most consecutive Heavyweight title defenses. The reason I say this is because it is included in both Sylvia's and Couture's pages and I don't see why it shouldn't be included in Lesnar's as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.73.16.244 (talk) 22:03, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Brock Lesnar

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Brock Lesnar's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Minor corrections in the mixed martial arts accomplishments page.

'Only second' is incorrect grammar. Despite writing second, only will always imply the one. Coupled with second in the same sentence becomes incorrect grammar. It should be 'second'. e.g Second fighter to win UFC title in his fourth fight after Randy Couture.

This is not correct. "Only" can also mean "few" such as, "Only three hot dogs left," or, "One of the only areas not yet explored." The latter example is taken directly from Merriam-Webster. JackieRipper (talk) 16:21, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

Person is spelt incorrectly.

This is opinion but a widely shared opinion in the MMA community that two title unifications simply state that he fought so rarely that there needed to be an interim champion in between fights in order for there to be a unification fight, which is not an accomplishment.

In my opinion, delete the line successfully defended and unified twice and instead just write. Unified UFC heavyweight championship twice. Saying he defended and unified twice is testament to his constant health issues which forced the UFC to have interim champions while Lesnar was recovering. Added to the fact that it is already mentioned that Lesnar is tied with Arlovski and Sylvia for most consecutive defenses, it simply becomes repetitive.

{{edit semi-protected|Brock Lesnar|answered=yes} During a match with Hardcore Holly in 2002. Holly's neck was legitimately broken by Lesnar. While Lesnar attempted a powerbomb Holly sandbagged Lesnar and Lesnar dropped him on his neck. 88.105.98.236 (talk) 17:32, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

"The NFL was an escapegoat for me."

He summed up his football decision like so, on Steve Austin's show. Normally, people use that word when they're trying to say scapegoat, but he was actually talking about something that somebody uses to escape something. That struck me as notable, though I can't see any reliable sources mentioning it yet. Just Reddit. But this Yahoo Sports piece is full of goat/escape innuendo.

Also, he talked of feeling like a trapped animal in WWE. October is Death Awareness Month, especially near the end. In late October 2003, Lesnar was chained to The Undertaker. In 2015, he'll be caged with him. These are both goat years in the Shēngxiào.

What's the common link between Lesnar and Taker? Well, it's The Big Show. Where was he in November 1998, while Austin and Taker played their "deadly game"? With Adam Sandler in a football movie. And where was Sandler in May 2005 (the one month in three years Taker didn't wrestle anyone)? With Steve Austin in a football movie. And what was Sandler's greatest accomplishment? A simple goat, tied to the back of a pickup truck. It's sort of like Goat Song, but without Wikipedia recognition.

The day before Sandler released that CD, The Headbangers retained the tag gold, and The Undertaker beat the WWF Champion (by DQ), 32 miles from the Lesnar chain match. WrestleMania 32 is indeed a happening.

Dubious claim

A line in the article (2017-present) goes thus: At WrestleMania 33, Lesnar beat Goldberg to win his fifth world title in WWE and became the third man (after John Cena and The Undertaker) to win two world titles at WrestleMania.

Hulk Hogan had won world titles at Wrestlemania 1989 and 1993. Steve Austin won at 1999 WM and then again in 2001. Please delete the line.

Lesnar's personal views

I would like to add Lesnar's personal views with proper references. Should this go under personal life, or under a sub heading someplace?Super veritas (talk)

I made small edit but it was reverted marked as "not relevant" but it is very relevant, so I would like the reverter to explain their action. The sentence states "Championships" which are implied as being won in a contest. WWE wrestling is a sports drama with pre-staged events and pre-determined outcome. It is not a sport or a contest. The Championship is given by the producers ahead of time, it is not won. WWE not being a sport is very relevant. If the reverter explains otherwise fine, but I'm going to change it back if it goes without explanationSuper veritas (talk) 05:02, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

I changed "won" to "held" since he did not win anything from WWE. Saying he 'held' the WWE championship is correct.Super veritas (talk) 03:24, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Pro wrestling

Brock Lesnar is an accomplished athlete, but his "athletic accomplishments" in pro-wrestling, a scripted performance art, should not be mentioned as if they are true athletic accomplishments, like his college wrestling or mixed-martial arts career. It is a waste of time and an insult to my intelligence to mention "he won the wrestle mania championship" in the same manner as stating he won a college wrestling title.98.162.136.248 (talk) 02:26, 19 July 2017 (UTC)

No accurate sources on Brock Lesnar's personal life category

In Brock's personal life category, it states that he had a fiancee called Nicole McClain with whom he had twins, a male and a female in 2002. But the citation given, that redirects to an article of an interview he did in 2004 for ESPN says that Brock had a "2 year old daughter", but it never mentions a son or any "Nicole McClain".

Also, digging around Internet, I found out on his allegedly ex-fiancée's and mother of 2 or 1 of his children blog that there is only one picture of Brock Lesnar and Nicole McClain that dates from 2009, and she was just a ring girl or she was promoting something, and they met in that UFC related event. In the same article that she wrote, she shows a picture of Brock Lesnar signing a magazine for her. So if they have children together, that doesn't quite make sense. (This is her blog by the way: http://nicolemcclain.blogspot.com.ar/search/label/Brock%20Lesnar)

So there aren't any sources to prove that Lesnar's first fiancee was Nicole McClain, as his Wiki article says, and there aren't any reliable sources that say that Brock Lesnar has 16 year old twins.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.127.90.26 (talk) 18:28, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

The 2nd source, also ESPN article, does mention twins from a previous relationship, although it doesn't name the partner. I have added new ref which does (you can find a few more on internet; I could ;) ). Also, her blog not mentioning their relationship has nothing to do with this. She may have various reasons for not doing so. That doesn't prove they hadn't relationship.AhmadLX (talk) 22:27, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

-Ok, I'm still not very convinced with the sources that put Nicole McClain as mother of Lesnar's twins since the source is usually a picture of them together that was taken in an UFC event where she was just a promotional model. Unless Nicole or anyone close to Lesnar edited this information by themselves... I'm nitpicking this though, if this is false information McClain herself or anyone close would probably seen it by now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.127.90.26 (talk) 16:52, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

Part-timer run and no-show title reign

Dunno why nobody written anything about Lesnar's excuseless passivity in WWE by comparing Persona and reception of Roman Reigns. And by comparing with other fellow (and notable) pro-wrestlers' with long world championship reigns (Sammartino, Hogan, Cena, Punk etc), he has the least title defences. OnurT 17:22, 14 July 2018 (UTC)

Content needs to be Sourced and Verifiable, and cannot contain Original research. I'm sure there's some notable commentary related to Lesnar's absence and lack of title defenses, if you can find some I can try and find a way to work it into the article.RF23 (talk) 19:53, 14 July 2018 (UTC)

Infobox

He was convicted of a crime, it is not a secret, not including it seems very POV to keep it out of the infobox. I can see no real reason for the exclusion of the information from the infobox if it is deemed notable, reliable, and verifiable enough to include in the article at large. Arguments like 'the infobox was not intended for X, Y or Z' belie the fact that it does apply and going down this route would require Wikipedia editors to have telepathy and other such super natural powers to look in to the minds of those of created the infobox, which is clearly not something I or any other editor on Wikipedia posses as a power. It is also appropriately used in Nolle prosequi cases of perpetrators dying during the commission of the act or shortly thereafter, common in a suicide attack or murder–suicide. Infobox criminal is rarely used where notability is not due primarily to the person being a convicted criminal.Czello 10:37, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
Additionally, as this is a BLP article, please do not re-insert it without consensus. — Czello 10:38, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
Even if we ignore the fact that the infobox's intended use is not misdemeanours, infoboxes are used to summarize the article. Given that this issue is a very small part of a very small legal section when compared to the rest of the article, it's not appropriate to highlight it in the infobox. 46 out of the 10,613 words of prose in this article discuss this subject, putting it in the infobox like that gives it an inappropriate amount of focus for a subject that has received so little coverage in reliable sources. He is not known for this misdemeanor and it is in no way why he is notable, so it's not appropriate for the infobox. - Aoidh (talk) 18:16, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
Agree, thank you. Sparkle1 appears to have stopped reinserting it now so I think the matter is resolved. — Czello 18:37, 12 October 2022 (UTC)

That’s an awful big conclusion jump because there has been less than a day with out a reply. Hold your horses before declaring victory, planting your flag and doing your victory dance. Wikipedia is not about winning and the comment you made about me not contributing as speedily as you’d like feels very battle ground and feels very much against the collaborative aims of Wikipedia Sparkle1 (talk) 08:49, 13 October 2022 (UTC)

Do you have anything further to actually add to this discussion? — Czello 09:26, 13 October 2022 (UTC)

I do yes. You will in good time get your reply. There is no need to be so aggressive and demanding. This is not a battlefield and there really is no urgency for this to be completed yesterday or at some fast forwarded timetable. I’ll respond when life allows. Just be patient Sparkle1 (talk) 09:56, 13 October 2022 (UTC)

As long as you don't re-add the infobox in the meantime, I'm happy to wait as long as you need. The article's current state is acceptable. — Czello 10:00, 13 October 2022 (UTC)

There is no need to be rude or make comments on your demands you are not the owner of this article. Please calm down and perhaps take a break. You seem to be taking this all far too seriously. There is also no need to talk at me like I am a complete moron and instruct me how you expect me to behave. Perhaps some assuming if. Good faith and collaborative working wouldn’t go amiss from you. Sparkle1 (talk) 10:04, 13 October 2022 (UTC)

Given this is a BLP article, it requires a higher standard of editing than regular articles, and given that you were insistent on adding the criminal infobox, I'm making it clear consensus needs to come first. As long as you agree with this, then we're all good. — Czello 10:08, 13 October 2022 (UTC)

Yes it does there is though no need for the attitude or the rudeness you are exhibiting towards me. This is not a battleground. Sparkle1 (talk) 10:27, 13 October 2022 (UTC)

Wrestlemania XXX

How come his most infamous match when he ended the Undertaker's streak at Wrestlemania XXX isn't included in the table of his PPV's? (I'd add it but lack the skills!) AndyCPrivate (talk) 10:01, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

The PPV table is listing his MMA/UFC pay per views. The Undertaker streak is mentioned under wrestling career and also in lead. WikiVirusC(talk) 13:44, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
I just realized that in prior version of article, there was a list of wrestling PPV too. Was removed shourlty after this request, as listing PPVs for wrestlers isn't something that isn't done for any other wrestler. WikiVirusC(talk) 14:15, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

Edit Request - Brock Lesnar's UFC pay

The amount listed for his fight with Mark Hunt has been proved incorrect by disclosure documents that have come out through the UFC anti trust lawsuit. He actually made $8,000,000 to fight Mark Hunt, not $2.5 million as previous reported.

This site has all the actual payments (per the legal disclosure docs): https://bloodyelbow.com/2023/12/14/90-ufc-payouts-mma-stars-full-list/ Zeieg (talk) 20:55, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

Edit Request: January 2024 Janel Grant Lawsuit

Should a section be added about Lesnar's suspension/absence from WWE after his implication in the January 2024 Janel Grant lawsuit? 86.10.36.86 (talk) 21:22, 1 February 2024 (UTC)

The lawsuit does not list his name so it would just be an assumption even though most reasonable people can infer that the lawsuit is describing him. As a result, I don't think a section should be added...for now. 2601:8C:C103:7580:F1AD:8BFB:B43D:BAD9 (talk) 02:25, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
