FDP

[edit]

The article states that "16% of FDP supporters want the wall back". It's impossible for FDP supporters to want a prison wall. They probably want a DEFENSIVE wall. --95.24.79.197 (talk) 00:43, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Restrictions to crossing

[edit]

"East Berliners and East Germans could not, at first, travel to West Berlin or West Germany at all": who prevented them: the GDR and/or Allied armed forces and/or West Berlin or West Germany authorities? ( I guess only GDR authorities did, but it should be explained clearly). Apokrif (talk) 23:55, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Demolition of the Wall

[edit]

In the sentence "The Brandenburg Gate, a few meters from the Berlin Wall, reopened on 22 December 1989, with demolition of the Wall beginning on 13 June 1990 and concluding in 1994," I think it would be helpful to clarify that "official" demolition of the Wall began on 13 June 1990. This is clearly stated in the reference cited. Demolition of the Wall was well underway unofficially by June 1990. I visited Berlin in March 1990, and large sections of the Wall had already been demolished by that time. Kwiggins2 (talk) 00:03, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
