Page name
[edit]I believe this should be changed to Bao Jingyan which is the modern pinyin-based approximation of 鮑敬言. In support of this change, see http://www.iep.utm.edu/gehong/ and look for "Jingyan".

I agree. Most sources discussing this scholar have chosen the latinization of "Bao Jingyan" instead of Pao Ching-yen (i.e., "Daoism and Anarchism"). Holdoffhunger (talk) 02:13, 19 December 2017 (UTC)
Dates are wrong!
[edit]We don't know Bao Jingyan's dates, but he lived long before the fifth century, because the only way we know about him is from the sections of his work quoted by Ge Hong (283-343). Bao probably lived around the year 300.--96.245.98.213 (talk) 01:29, 5 June 2017 (UTC)
Very true! I have updated with a reliable, near-primary source (history is hazy around the year 300 generally), which I only found after finding numerous, tertiary-sources suggesting the same thing. I will lift the warning about sources on this article if you agree. Holdoffhunger (talk) 02:12, 19 December 2017 (UTC)
