@Ferret: Hi. I didn't thought to make a discussion and applied the edit to date format since it is used as m-d-y even on others linked articles to this one, as Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition. Transphobia?

The lead said that the backlash is driven by transphobia (hate or fear of transgender people), while the body says it's driven by the gamers annoyed by the perceived pushing of a political agenda (opposition to bringing politics into gaming). Missing Context

This article could use additional context regarding its controversy. While it's true that there was much transphobic backlash, there was also some criticism from the transgender community as well. One of the most prominent examples here. The gist is that the character Mizhena deadnames herself immediately -- in other words, she reveals the fact that she is trans and readily shares her former, "dead" name, something that a real trans person would likely never do so casually. This helps to explain why Beamdog chose the response they did, as described in the article: only after Mizhena trusts the players does she reveal her past. If Beamdog was pandering to transphobia as is implied, they would not have doubled-down on making this character a better, more accurate representation of trans people. As I am a novice with Wikipedia, I am not sure whether a forum link can be cited, or even should be cited, but more results on this topic can be found by searching the internet for Siege of Dragonspear + deadname. This article full of far-left extremist bias

The article repeatedly uses the far-left propaganda slur "transphobic." "Transphobic" and "transphobia" are not real words. They are neologisms and slurs used by far-left propagandists to smear normal people who believe in biological reality as some kind of "phobe." Also, it incorrectly calls the tranny a "trans woman." That is far-left extremist propaganda and biological science-denial. The thing is a man, not a woman. It should be called a male transvestite or male-to-female transsexual. The article also incorrectly uses feminine pronouns to refer to the transvestite character. Since it is a man dresses as a woman, not an actual woman, it should have masculine pronouns. This far-left gender ideology propaganda that denies science is very damaging to the credibility of Wikipedia and should be removed. Furthermore, Polygon is by no means a reliable source.
