Notability
[edit]Need to explain why this person rates an encyclopedia article. See notability guidelines. --Bookgrrl 03:10, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know much about Zwicky personally, but he's a name that every linguistics student who takes morphology will see. He's probably the foremost expert on clitics. I vote he stays. Straughn 21:29, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- If there's still any concern about whether or not Zwicky is notable, then we can cite the fact that he was elected to be an LSA fellow in 2006, which is essentially the linguistics hall of fame. http://www.lsadc.org/info/lsa-fellows-year.cfm --Paigemont (talk) 01:16, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- A highly intelligent linguist, and he's an expert on the clitic? If he was not gay, id say he was a...Mercurywoodrose (talk) 04:21, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

Gay activism
[edit]Zwicky is a very prolific and enthusiastic lgbt activist, as can be seen on his blog and website. In my opinion, this constitutes a very important segment of his life and personality and deserves a section of its own or at least a mention.
However, I would leave this to the people who are more fluent in English than myself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.198.18.122 (talk) 15:29, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Correctly deleted addition: Prof. Zwicky is not of Jewish Descent
[edit]User:Tim Pierce undid my addition that Prof. Zwicky is Jewish.
I started writing a detailed response proving I was right about every word. Skip it all. Prof. Zwicky wrote a piece explaining why I was wrong about almost everything. It's called "The evil that AI chatbots can do". And in it, I am referred to as an AI bot.
I am so sorry Prof. Zwicky, I did not mean to say anything bad. I thought I was using your own descriptions. I even thought I was using your own words!!! I am User:Pashute, my name is Moshe Flam, I am Israeli, Jewish, proud of it, and very human. I enjoy reading the works of linguists, especially if they deal with Jewish culture. I studied linguistics and still do. I am working on a project on artificial comprehension. (Nothing to do with my Wikipedia edit, but then again maybe everything to do with it). I speak Yiddish, Hebrew, Arabic, Aramaic, Ge'ez, Amharic, and Akkadian, and sing about not understanding anything in 20 languages including French, German, Spanish, Farsi, Malayalam Tagalog Mandarin, and Hebrew Sign Language. Please forgive me. What you wrote is a lesson for me, and a joy to read as well, even if it shows how much I was off. I bow my head to you and beg for forgiveness.
Thanks Tim!!! Sorry WP readers.
