Manga?
[edit]There's a manga based on this. Shouldn't it be mentioned in the article?
You can find it over at Onemanga. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.67.105.27 (talk) 22:51, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
I'd help....
[edit]but I don't have the game. When I get it, I'll play through as fast as I can and try to fix it up. But that's not for at least two weeks so I don't know...
Getting things together!
[edit]Ok, I'm going to try and start things up a little by giving us a general idea as to what we should be doing here. I'm primarily using Chrono Cross for an example as to how we should have the style set up in the long run, though there'll probably be a fair bit of alteration until then.
So far, I'd say our first priority is to get a Gameplay section together. For the Gameplay section, we'll likely need to cover the following:
- "Limited Encounters"
- Battle System, most likely with a focus on Harmonics and Song Magic.
- Cosmospheres/Crafting Song Magic
There are likely other aspects that I missed, but I believe those are the most important ones. Once we've got that together, we should probably start tackling the "Characters" section, as that's what needs the most cleanup at this point - in particular,we'll want to remove the information on the less important characters, such as Mei Mei, Lyra, and Luke. We don't need or want every single character in the game for the article, just the significant ones.
Once we've got that handled, we'll probably want to see if we can get any information on Ar tonelico -arpeggio-, as we mention it in the first line of the article, but never mention it after that.
...That's probably enough for the short term, I think. Also, of course, this is just my take on how to get the article cleaned up, if anyone else thinks we should prioritize things a bit differently, please speak up. -- Wakuseino 03:34, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
I've done an in-depth analysis of the Reyvateil's personalities by diving their Cosmospheres in the game, and will work on expanding their profiles. Zhane Masaki
I added some parts of the battle system, including harmonics and song magic, and rearranged stuff a bit. I've only played the Japanese version and it's been some time, so please counter-check everything I edit in. We really need a story synopsis. Also I'd like to revert that Misha <-> Orica position switch, as Misha is certainly not the main Reyvateil (the editor probably only played her storyarc), and Lyner meets Orica first. I'll try to get the Cosmosphere part done tomorrow -- Suikun 15:16, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Characters
[edit]I couldn't help but notice how rediculously long the 'Characters' section is. If it is going to be that long, perhaps it should be expanded and split into its own article? --Captain Cornflake 17:46, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. I started fixing some of the playable character paragraphs today. There is a lot of unnessacary information in there, so I've taken most of it. If someone has that much of a problem with it, I suggest that they make their own character articles. Ayatane's section desperately needs to be weeded out. Suggestions, anyone?--Zemalia 16:53, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- I second the idea that the characters section should be spilt into its own article and perhaps some of the other long sections as well.LOKFanatic 06:25, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'm considering editing the characters section to remove plot points and twists that are deep within the game and only retaining what is known about the characters early in the game so that someone who is interested in this game but who has not played it will not stumble upon these major plot points and have them spoiled for them. I had tried adding a spoiler tag to the section but it was removed so I will instead edit the section to make it less spoiler heavy. I've also considered moving the character section (and perhaps media releases) section into its' own article. If anyone is opposed to these changes, please inform me and explain why. I might have been the one to delete those spoiler tags, and if so, I apologize... there was a raid of spoiler tags on the pages that I watched the same day and I didn't consider this one heavily enough. I don't mind you adding them back in, but I still agree that a seperate character page where we could explain and add more detail to each character would be best. Not only would it get rid of significant horrible use of space, but more info as well. As for the making a media release page, that's another good way to get rid of the too much info that is in this article. If you start a character page, could you post the link in here? Oh, and I was also thinking of making a seperate page for the specific settings in the game. Just let me know when you get the seperate pages started. Zemalia 01:02, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
- OK, well I've now put the character and media releases in their own articles now and left links to them in the main article. When I have more time, I'll get round to editing the heavy spoilers out of the characters article and sorting out the drama CDs in the Media Releases article LOKFanatic 09:06, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
Cleanup
[edit]...Ok, I'll state things outright here: We really need to fix up this page. My cleanup just cleaned up The "World" section, which quite frankly, I suspect is too long and needs to be cleaned of extra stuff. The character information section can't decide whether it's for the Japanese version or the English version, there's at least one character that doesn't even appear in the game as far as I know in the character pages... If we're going to give it a wikipedia article, we ought to do it right. Personally, I'd like to see more information on the game mechanics on here, as they do a lot of fun stuff you don't see anywhere else, which isn't even mentioned in the article. I can't be the only one working here. -- Wakuseino 05:07, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
- Since the english version of the game also contains the Japanese character voices, I think it's reasonable to have both the English and Japanese voice actor information. Other than that, what else would be considered "can't decide whether it's for the Japanese version or the English version"? 71.32.168.69 19:40, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. Also, if anyone else is actually around, I'm going to start working on some of the clean up. The page is just really poorly organized as well. I might redo some of the categories and add pictures to the character sections to break it up a little bit. Right now, it just looks like WAY to much text. If someone else wants to help, please post here in the discussion. Zemalia 20:15, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
I finished the cleanup today and have decided that there are still a couple of things the article could use. Some of the characters could use beefing up, others could be weeded out. Its common that there are character sections in video game articles that cover plot, but if we're going to do that, as we currently have with Falss and Ayatane, we need to do it with everyone. We still need to work on getting some more images, getting the cosmosphere section up... um... that's all I can think of for now. Help is welcome! Zemalia 20:23, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Artists Section
[edit]Its not really needed. There are already links to the artists' pages in the list of songs. If anyone desputes the need for this section in the article, please discuss. Currnetly, it doesn't flow properly with the article, which is meant to focus on the game not the people who helped to bring it together, and it taking up space (the article is already long enough). If there are no replies to this discussion topic in five days, I'll remove the section from the article. --Zemalia 18:17, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- When the artists section was originally created, Haruka Shimotsuki and Noriko Mitose's pages weren't very detailed and Akiko Shikata didn't have a page at all. However, now that this has changed, I agree that the artists section is unnecessary. Perhaps, though the first paragraph should be retained.LOKFanatic 06:25, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Deleted today, reduced the section to have no subtitles, since we don't really need them anymore. Worked the first paragraph into the clean up as well. Zemalia 19:53, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Navigational Box?
[edit]I think it would be a good idea to have one for the series, since it now has four different pages we can add to the template. It would include this page, the sequel, and the newly created character and media pages. What do you think, should we create one to make navigation through the Ar tonelico series' pages a bit easier? Zemalia 18:04, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
- I just sorted this out, I created an Ar tonelico Category page and added all four pages to it. LOKFanatic 10:44, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
This is in response to the request for assessment at WP:VG. Though coming along nicely, I think this is still a Start-Class. On the Importance side of things, I believe it's low. Here are some ideas to get you up and beyond B-class:
- Not enough references. See WP:CITE.
- The lead is made up of lots of one-sentence paragraphs, which isn't so nice to read. Have a look at WP:LS.
- The information in the "game" section is usually split up into a number of sections: Gameplay (for information on the game mechanics); Characters, along with World and a plot summary, should be subsections of a Story section; the music info can probably go in its own section.
- The World section goes into too much detail and is too much like a game guide (WP:NOT#GUIDE). If it's not useful to somebody who will never play the game then don't include it. Additionally, the "Battle System" down to "Diving and the Cosmosphere" subsections don't really need to be subsections.
- Reception section could do with expansion.
- You might want to include a section detailing the development history of the game (see featured VG articles for ideas).
- No screenshots?
Screenshots, references, sorting out the Game/World sections and expanding other areas of the article (e.g. a development section, the reception section) would probably get you a B.
Hope this helps, Una LagunaTalk 06:21, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Released in UK?
[edit]Hi, I saw this on the assessment page and seeing as it's a Gust game released in Europe I blew the moths out of my wallet. The only problem is, each of the sites I've visited to compare prices has listed the game as not in stock and carries little or no information on the title. It really doesn't look like it has been released in the UK at all. Has anyone seen this in a UK shop? Someone another 17:16, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- I also noticed another game from the same publisher (505 games) called Raw Danger also just seems to be hanging with no real details and no release dates. Has 505 run into some trouble? Someone another 17:18, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- I think what ended up happening is that the game was banned for its suggestive content. If we don't have a note about that in the article, we should find a source and put it in there ASAP. Thanks for the heads up. Zemalia 20:00, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- I myself live in the UK and could not find this game in any of my local stores and all the websites I visited still listed it as TBA. 505 Games did not reply to my e-mails either. I later learned that 505 Games have a reputation for releasing games in limited quantities and for releasing games in other European countries but not the UK. In the end, I ended up buying this game from an Italian website dvd.it. The game box and manual were in Italian but the game itself was fully in English. I don't think the game was banned in the UK as the PEGI rating on the front of the box is 7+.LOKFanatic 04:19, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tip, I'll check the site out. Hmm, this thing with 505's UK releases is all very odd. They had a fairly major run-in with the UK press over Rule of Rose (check the article for details), and decided not to release the game in the UK but did do in the rest of Europe. The game was never banned and was given a PEGI rating, the same thing happened and I got an Italian copy of the game (from ebay). What I don't understand is why (apparently) they've just decided to leave the UK out from their releases. I'm not finding any details on any issues with Ar Tonelico via web-searches, nor anything with 505 themselves. their own website on a UK domain lists the game as released. Even if it was squeaked out in extremely small quantities, I'd expect the shops that sold it to carry some information, a box shot etc. (it's the basic information they carry to encourage buyers). My head hurts. Someone another 15:58, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Ar Tonelico: The Anime/Movie
[edit]I think this show has seen an Anime adaption. I found some images of it when I was searching for Ar Tonelico images. I came across this italian site that had images of what looks like is an Anime adaption of Ar Tonelico. [1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sir aaron sama girl (talk • contribs) 17:09, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- There was an OVA done, but its just one epsiode that is about twenty minutes long. I believe we have it included under the media release page. Zemalia 04:23, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- It is, but there needs to be more information here. Actually, a better solution is probably a generic Ar Tonelico page. CFLeon (talk) 19:59, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

The Third Cosmosphere - Shurelia
[edit]I think it should have its own sub-section under the diving section if you ask me. Shurelia's Cosmosphere has significant differences between the normal two cosmospheres. First notability would be that there's a splash screen (IE: like another game.) Second Notability is that in Shurelia's Cosmosphere, you only need DP to enter locations, there is no need for DP during events. Third Notability, is that it's the only cosmosphere to have battles within it. Also note, to even get into Shurelia's cosmosphere, you must complete level 6 (aka: Final Consciousness) of both Misha and Aurica's cosmospheres. Finishing Shurelia's cosmosphere at level 4 will give end credits like Ar Tonelico's End Credits. Also note, there are only 5 levels in Shurelia's cosmosphere 66.168.19.135 (talk) 14:18, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with that suggestion, but I have a little correction: the Lv. 6 Cosmosphere is only concealed feelings of unsecurity, the Final Conciousness is Lv. 7, which also are the actual requirements for entering in Shurelia's Cosmosphere. The only question is how to insert it into the article (and because it also is a very big spoiler...) Aquagon 07 (talk) 00:16, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Language difficulty POV
[edit]From #The Hymmnos Language: "This language can be quite hard to learn for some, but it is worth the effort."
Is there some fitting way to rewrite this, or should it be removed? I can't find any obvious replacement sentence, and don't feel comfortable enough around the article editing guidelines to remove anything that may contain information not repeated elsewhere. --81.232.114.228 (talk) 23:39, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
- Already long removed , but it might be little biased, yes it's worth the effort I already learned it and I even upload the glyph conversion image to commons and use the image for this article.--AldNonUcallin?☎ 17:02, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
