BASIC

[edit]

A listing of the BASIC from Ant Attack is (temporarily) available at http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~pak21/spectrum/antattack.txt. Cheers --Pak21 11:47, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Sandy White himself confirms that it is a mixture of BASIC and machine code, on his website [1]. --Oscarthecat 13:02, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Cripes, could you maybe have cited that at the point where the "mixture of BASIC and" (machine code) text was inserted that I've just deleted? I might not have touched it then. Every other source apart from that one entry on an otherwise highly obscure old guestbook says it's pure Z80. 193.63.174.211 (talk) 14:16, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:3d ant attack cover art.jpg

[edit]

Image:3d ant attack cover art.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 05:19, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

low priority?!?!?!!?!?

[edit]

why the hell is this article on low priority status? this game is one of the first 3d video games ever created, probably the first fully 3d game with complete freedom of movement, and also the first 3d game that has a moveable camera, this shows the ridiculous United States bias that permeates much of wikipedia, just because people from the US haven't heard of it means it must be unimportant? this article gets no attention, whilst a two dimentional plumber who jumps over gaps in a game THAT CAME OUT TWO YEARS AFTER THIS gets reams of information about how amazingly innovative and original it is —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.136.98.193 (talk) 03:49, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What about Monster Maze on the ZX81 then? And seriously no flight sims or other such games (Elite, Total Eclipse, Driller, Rescue on Fractalus...) predating it, on the speccy, 81, c64, A8 or others? It was maybe the first ISOMETRIC 3D game, and first isometric game with a moveable camera position no less - but neither is it "fully 3d", nor if it was would it have been the first. The US-centricity can indeed be very grating, but let's not lose our sense of perspective (ho ho). 193.63.174.211 (talk) 14:19, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

3D Ant Attack

[edit]

I forgot to mention this at the time; the article was originally at 3D Ant Attack, and on 29 December 2006 I moved it to its current location, "Ant Attack". Although a lot of early 3D and mock-3D games had "3D" in the name, Ant Attack was not one of them, as per the inlay card, the tape cassette, the loading screen, and in the game, in both ZX Spectrum and Commodore C64 versions. -Ashley Pomeroy 15:35, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:3d ant attack cover art.jpg

[edit]

In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. I hate it when automatic commentbots refer to themselves in the first person. Really creeps me out. 193.63.174.211 (talk) 14:20, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

help!

[edit]

OK, I've done something to break the original neatness of the citation list. At first there were two links to the Edge article in the maintext, but only one footnote (#2) tied to them at the bottom, and both cites appeared as a superscript "[2]" inline with the text.

I tried to copy that with my own inserted references that were worthy of duplication at far-spaced parts of the text, and ... I don't know what went wrong. It's all broken. There's like nine footnote entries, all with different numbers, for what are only about five or six actual citations. Even the Edge one is no longer deduplicated, and I could have sworn I didn't even touch it.

Can a Wikipedia formatting wizard please fix this for me? I don't even... :( 193.63.174.211 (talk) 15:06, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

hey there

[edit]

I am working on estabishing an elder friends wiki Draft: Mev Dinc, he had worked with Surjit, consulting on the ZX sepctrum version to help with the C64 and Amstrad versions. I wanted to mention it since it is his first professional job, but then, I think it would be too far fetching to put any credits in. I will let it go and work on linking and citing his later works but let me know if you would be interested to mention him on this page.
