Intensites
[edit]Can someone double check the intensities off all the STC's this season ASAP, Nadi says 6 STC's developed this season while we say 7.Jason Rees (talk) 14:08, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
- As far as I know, the Nadi season summary report reads as "Ten tropical cyclones occurred in the region, of which seven attained hurricane intensity, one storm and three gales." Maybe they discounted Erica because it formed outside the basin in that STC count, but nonetheless, it appears they say 10 to 7. TheAustinMan(Talk·Works) 17:45, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
Conducive versus conductive
[edit]I'm copyediting this article - can I assume that where I find "conductive", it should be "conducive"? --Demiurge1000 (talk) 04:13, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
- I dont see why not, but favourable might be better imo.Jason Rees (talk) 19:03, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

- State at the end of the lead how much damage and deaths the season as a whole caused.
- "During January 2003, NIWA issued an updated outlook with the Northern Cook Islands and French Polynesia now predicted to experience a higher than average number of tropical cyclones, while Vanuatu was now predicted to experience a higher than average number of tropical cyclones." - Is there a way you could condense that to avoid redundancy and run-on? For example, "During January 2003, NIWA issued an updated outlook with the Northern Cook Islands, French Polynesia, and Vanuatu now predicted to experience a higher than average number of tropical cyclones."
- "Tropical Depression 03F and Cyclone Zoe. Zoe was the" - Redundancy; avoid starting a sentence with the word used to end the previous sentence.
- "In 2003, thirteen disturbances formed, of which eight developed into tropical cyclones; six intensified further and became severe tropical cyclones." - You should probably say, "In the first half of 2003...", since there were 3 other tropical cyclones that developed in the same basin later that year.
- "Yolande had completed an transitioning into an extratropical cyclone" - Grammatical error; I think you meant: "Yolande had completed a transition into an extratropical cyclone".
- "barometric pressure falling 40 mbar (1.2nbsp;inHg) to a minimum" - Missing an ampersand (&) there.
- "After wind shear lessened, Cilla reached its peak intensity on January 28, attaining maximum winds of 75 km/h (45 mph) sustained over 10 minutes." Curious, why did you wait until now to actually mention a wind speed, after all, there were four other storm sections before this one.
- "Tropical Storm Gina by June 5 about 600 mi (970 km) east-southeast of Honiara." "Category 3 tropical cyclone on the Australian intensity scale, with winds of 90 mph (140 km/h). The JTWC recorded winds of 105 mph (170 km/h)." - Why the sudden switch to American units of measure first. For example, it should be "970 km (600 mi)" to remain consistent with the rest of the article.
- "36. ^ Gary Padgett (2003). "Monthly Global Tropical Cyclone Summary, June 2003"" - "Gary Padgett" --> "Padgett, Gary"
- Done - Fixed the aforementioned issues. Also added peak intensity winds to a few more storms. TheAustinMan(Talk·Works) 15:43, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
- Good job TheAustinMan. I will now pass this article.--12george1 (talk) 13:27, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
