Abortion is legal with no gestational limit: in all states except TN when the mother's life is in danger; in most states for severe medical complications; and in three states (AR, MS, UT) for pregnancies from rape or rape and incest.

  2. Defined in some states as 20 weeks from estimated fertilization
  3. Variously defined as after 27 or 28 weeks LMP; Massachusetts: after 24 weeks from implantation, ≈ 27 weeks LMP
