- Comment: Note to reviewer: Per a search of the NCES database, this is the only school with this name in the country, so the title should be Ruidoso High School. No disambiguation is needed. 4.37.252.50 (talk) 15:31, 11 July 2024 (UTC)

Ruidoso High School (RHS) is a traditional public high school in Ruidoso, New Mexico. As of 2024, the school is operated by the Ruidoso Municipal Schools.[1] It currently serves 532 students,[2] and the current principal is Angela Romero.[3]
History
[edit]Founded in 1956, Ruidoso is the sole high school in the village of around 7,000 residents.[4] When Dr. Jim Miller was founding Eastern New Mexico University, he initially held some classes within the high school, until 1994, when the campus officially had a campus building in Clovis.[5]
In 2023, there was controversy in the school after parents complained to the school board over the presence of LGBTQ+ books in the library.[6]

RHS also works in close conjunction with Eastern New Mexico University's branch in Ruidoso.
Athletics
[edit]RHS is represented by the Warriors.[8]
In American football, Ruidoso has a long history of success in the state. Their earliest victory was in Class C football in 1950, and has most recently won a AAA state title in 2022, as well as AAAA state titles in 2014 and 2017.[9] The current head coach of the team is Greg Crow, an alumni of the school's football program.[10]
