Pratibha Thapliyal is an Indian bodybuilder affiliated with the Indian Body Builders Federation (IBBF). She secured a gold medal at the 13th Mr. India Senior Women's Bodybuilding Competition in 2023, a bronze medal at the 55th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship in Kathmandu, Nepal, and another bronze at the 14th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship in Wonju City, South Korea.[1][2][failed verification]
She was recognized with the "Uttaranchal Nari Shakti Samman" by Uttaranchal University on International Women's Day for her contributions to bodybuilding and fitness advocacy.[3][failed verification][4][5]
Early Life and Background
[edit]Pratibha Thapliyal was born and raised in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. During her school and college years, she was actively engaged in sports, particularly excelling in volleyball and cricket. She represented Uttarakhand as the captain of the state's volleyball team at the national level and was also a member of the Uttarakhand female cricket team. Her athletic abilities were evident from a young age. Following her marriage, Thapliyal began her journey into bodybuilding after being advised to exercise as part of a health regimen to manage thyroid issues.
Personal Life
[edit]Pratibha Thapliyal is married to Bhupesh Thapliyal, who also serves as her trainer and dietician. The couple has two sons. Bhupesh Thapliyal has been instrumental in her bodybuilding career, motivating her to pursue the sport after recognizing her aptitude for weight training.

Pratibha Thapliyal was honored by Uttaranchal University with the "Uttaranchal Nari Shakti Samman" on International Women's Day for her contributions to bodybuilding.
