Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia 2024 was be the 2nd edition of the Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia pageant to be held on May 19, 2024, at Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta. The coronation ceremony will broadcast on Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia's YouTube channel. Ritassya Wellgreat of Palembang crowned Nova Liana of South Sumatra 1 as her successor at the end of the event.[1][2]
Background

[edit]For the 2nd edition, Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia will hold its coronation night at Istora Senayan, Jakarta in May 2024. In this second edition, the Dunia Mega Bintang Foundation again collaborates with Indra Yudhistira as Creative Director of Indonesia Entertainment Group (IEG) after successfully holding a beauty contest Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia the previous year.
Participant selection
[edit]For the first time, Ivan Gunawan as the National Director of Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia held a regional competition in each province by holding a regional director election in August 2023 to hold the Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia regional beauty contest in each province in Indonesia. The provinces selected so far include North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Banten, East Java, West Java, DI Yogyakarta, West Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Central Java, Bali, Lampung.
13 contestants who successfully won the contest in the region are entitled to become finalists of Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia 2024, each region gets a wildcard selected directly by Ivan Gunawan, contestants who get wildcards are also entitled to become finalists of Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia 2024. On February 28, 2023 Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia held an audition at Vertu Harmoni, Jakarta . The selection was directly appointed by Ivan Gunawan, there were 8 contestants who met the criteria who succeeded in becoming finalists.
Sashing Ceremony
[edit]The Sashing Ceremony/Sash Embedding will be held on May 4 2024 at Gadri Royal Ambarukmo, Yogyakarta which is part of the main house in the historic Kedaton Ambarukmo complex.[3].
The event began with the presentation of the Golek Ayun-Ayun dance (a classic Yogyakarta dance that depicts teenage girls searching for their identity before entering the adult phase). Contestants are asked to walk by showing off the beauty of kebaya clothing with the theme Kretek Girl, dominant kebaya janggan with a combination of batik cloth and accompanied by the music of gamelan music which adds a very strong Javanese feel.[4][5].
At the end of the event Ivan Gunawan announced two winners for Best Walk in Sashing Ceremony and Best Kebaya in Sashing Ceremony, both winners received prizes in the form of iPhone 15.

Culture Paradise Fashion Show
[edit]This traditional batik clothing parade was held for the first time in the history of Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia on May 5 2024 at Sewu Temple, Yogyakarta. This event is expected to promote Indonesian tourist destinations, especially in Special Region of Yogyakarta, and has been supported by Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the D.I Yogyakarta Regional Tourism Promotion Agency.[8][9][10].
Contestants wearing designer clothes from Ivan Gunawan, Deden Siswanto, Julianto and Maison Baaz Couture as well as Batik fabric from Iwan Tirta will demonstrate the clothes they wear around the Sewu Temple area. , the winner of the Best Fashion Show Culture Parade will be announced after the event.[11][12].
After the event, the clothes designed by the 4 designers will be sold at Iwan Tirta batik store and part of the income from these sales will be donated to batik craftsmen throughout Indonesia.

Pleminary Competiton
[edit]The Preliminary Competition consists of The Culture Festive round and the evening gown round which will take place on May 12, 2024 at the Vertu Harmoni Hotel, Jakarta . And enlivened by Andina Julie, Miss Grand Indonesia 2022.
The Culture Festive/Cultural Festival.[14] merupakan babak dimana kontestan diminta untuk menggarap busana mereka dengan kain Wastra/tradisional (sesuai dengan daerah mereka masing-masing) menjadi sebuah gaun yang semenarik mungkin dan dilanjutkan dengan babak memperagakan gaun malam[15].is a round where contestants are asked to create their own clothing using Wastra/traditional fabric (according to their respective regions) into a dress that is as attractive as possible and is followed by a round of displaying evening gowns .
There are 15 judges selected to provide assessments and choose who will receive the title of Best In Culture Festive and Best In Evening Gown which will be announced on the final night.
