Miss Grand Chaiyaphum (Thai: มิสแกรนด์ชัยภูมิ) is a Thai provincial beauty pageant,[1][2][3] which selects a representative from Chaiyaphum province to the Miss Grand Thailand national competition.[4][5][6] It was founded in 2016[7] by an entrepreneur, Chotiwat Diloklap (โชติวัฒน์ ดิลกลาภ).[8]
Chaiyaphum representatives have yet to win the Miss Grand Thailand title. The highest placement they obtained was in the semi-finalists (top 10/12), achieved in 2016 and 2018.[9][10]
History
[edit]In 2016, after Miss Grand Thailand began franchising the provincial competitions to individual organizers, who would name seventy-seven provincial titleholders to compete in the national pageant.[11] The license for Chaiyaphum province was granted to an event organizer, Chotiwat Diloklap,[8] who organized the first Miss Grand Chaiyaphum contest in that year on 9 April[7] and named a model from Khon Kaen, Korrawan Lodsanthia, the winner.[4]
The pageant was skipped once; in 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand, the national organizer was unable to organize the national event, and the country representative for the international tournament was appointed instead.[12]
