  • Comment: I was just writing this as the latest reviewer sent this back to you for more work. please look at these items:
    * IMDB may not be used as a reference. Nor may any user generated site.
    * While more than one reference for a single point often seems like a good idea, a fact, once cited, is a cited fact. You may be able to re-deploy extra references for different facts
    * Education section is an example of a section with few facts cited. This needs attention
Let me explain what we need. For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the person is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.
There isn't as much work to do as you might believe, but there is work to do. You need to prove that he passes WP:NFILMMAKER 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 17:33, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: I have removed some puffery and formatted the headings for you. If the word 'notable' appears then we often conclude that you are telling us that something is more than what it is. Use citations to prove notability. If it becomes an article that demonstrated that notability has been found and verified 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 12:36, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: Too much of the content is unreferenced, and too many of the citations are to non-reliable sources. DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:42, 24 May 2024 (UTC)

Daniel Druhora (born June 3, 1982) is a Romanian-American filmmaker of documentaries, and educator.[1] He has directed and produced several films including Lives Not Grades[2] (2021), Cloudwalkers[3] (2024), as well as his upcoming narrative feature Elie's Overcoat (2025).[4]

Early life

[edit]

Born in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, during the last years of Communism, Druhora and his family immigrated to the United States following the 1989 Revolution, settling initially in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and later in Phoenix, Arizona. His father, Ovidiu Druhora, is a minister and theology professor,[5] and his mother, Ana Druhora, was an orphanage director.

Education

[edit]

Druhora graduated with a B.A. from the University of Washington in 2007, originally intending to pursue a career in diplomacy[1], he chose to pursue filmmaking instead under the guidance of his mentor, screenwriter Stewart Stern. He earned his M.F.A. in Film and Television Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2014.[1]

Film career

[edit]

Druhora began his career in the film industry interning at Warner Brothers[1] for producer Dan Lin, contributing to projects like Gangster Squad (2013) and The Lego Movie (2014).[6] His directorial works include Lives Not Grades[7] (2021), which follows a team of college students working to find solutions to the global refugee crisis.[8] The film won an Emmy Award for Best Independent Programming at the 74th Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards.[9] He co-founded the U.K.-based Safe Passage Films in 2019, through which he produced "Long Distance Swimmer – Sara Mardini (2023)",[10] a film that premiered at various international film festivals including Hot Docs in Toronto and Sheffield DocFest.[11] In 2023 he directed and produced "Cloudwalkers: ISI And The Inventors of The Future"[12] about the early days of the internet and the emergence of the age of A.I., and a follow-up to Lives Not Grades focusing on innovations in Ukraine.[13] His feature directorial debut, Elie's Overcoat, will tell the story of Holocaust survival and heroism in his native Transylvania.[14]

Teaching

[edit]

In 2018, Druhora co-founded a course at USC titled "Innovation in Engineering and Design for Global Challenges,"[15] popularly known as the Lives Not Grades course[8], which prepares students to develop solutions for global crises.[16] He also teaches the art of storytelling at USC and contributes to university publications.[1]
