David Edmund Burton-Sampson[1] is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament for Southend West and Leigh since 2024.[2]
Political career
[edit]Burton-Sampson was deputy leader of the Labour Group on Basildon council.[3]
He unseated the Conservative MP Anna Firth, who had won the seat in a by-election after the murder of longtime MP Sir David Amess in October 2021.
Personal life
[edit]He is gay[3] and is married to his husband Mark.[4]
