Zarrineh Rud Rural District (Persian: دهستان زرينه رود)[3] is in Baktash District of Miandoab County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Satelmish-e Mohammadlu.[4] The previous capital of the rural district was the village of Baktash,[5] (now a city).[6]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part of the Central District) was 15,077 in 3,575 households.[7] There were 17,689 inhabitants in 4,983 households at the following census of 2011.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 17,756 in 5,426 households. The most populous of its 22 villages was Baktash (now a city),[6] with 3,523 people.[2]

In 2020, the rural district was separated from the district in the establishment of Baktash District.[4]
