I put Will Main, supposedly a freestlye skier, up for deletion. Because his name has two common nouns, web searches aren't so useful. Thought I'd give you the heads-up on it anyway. --Montchav (talk) 15:21, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Vertical Drop in Infobox Ski Template
All, I just wanted to bring your attention to an issue we've been having in some east coast ski area articles. A user has been going through and using topo maps to get the vertical drop numbers. There is no exact way to come up with this number, short of having a certified survey done, so this tends to fall under the 'original research' tag. Certainly ski areas are known to round (some very generously) their vertical drops in an upward manner, so I've tried to compromise by citing the vertical drop number to an industry wide source (in this case, SnoCountry). A brief discussion of this matter has taken place over at Template_talk:Infobox_ski_area. Please let me know if you have any feedback - I'm trying to put an end to some editwarring and sockpupetry. Thank you! Jrclark (talk) 18:09, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- 'Note: If this cannot be resolved here, it should ultimately be taken to WP:Rfc--Pgagnon999 (talk) 22:43, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Ski jumping World Cup winners footer
Hello. FYI, I have created a footer template for the overall winners of the Ski jumping World Cup, similar to the one used for the winners of the alpine World Cup.

WikiProject Snowboard proposal
I've put forward a proposal for a separate WikiProject Snowboard, as I feel that snowboarding is a large enough area to warrant its own project, and many of the articles are in need of attention. Any takers/thoughts?TheSnowApe (talk) 12:24, 12 May 2008 (UTC) PS please don't let this become a skiing vs. boarding debate, it's been done to death! :-)
Articles flagged for cleanup
Currently, 417 articles are assigned to this project, of which 88, or 21.1%, are flagged for cleanup of some sort. (Data as of 14 July 2008.) Are you interested in finding out more? I am offering to generate cleanup to-do lists on a project or work group level. See User:B. Wolterding/Cleanup listings for details. More than 150 projects and work groups have already subscribed, and adding a subscription for yours is easy - just place the following template on your project page:
- {{User:WolterBot/Cleanup listing subscription|banner=Ski}}
If you want to respond to this canned message, please do so at my user talk page; I'm not watching this page. --B. Wolterding (talk) 17:44, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
This just got created and has an "article issues" template with advert, coi and cleanup tags attached; its original sourcedw ould appear to be published material from Whistler Blackcomb (Inc.); contributor is SPA User:Whistler Blackcomb. Don't have the time or interest, but the article needs a "wash" and to be brought in conformity with other lift articles.Skookum1 (talk) 03:13, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Mountain articles
Just wondering if mountain articles associated with resort articles should get the WP:Ski template....I just created Mount Mackenzie, which is the site of Revelstoke Mountain Resort, and of course most resort peaks alraedy have articles for one reason or another; but would there be a point in Whistler Mountain and Big White getting WP:Ski as well as WP:Mountains, since Whistler Blackcomb and Big White Ski Resort are already in the project? Or would it be good to coordinate content between the respective mountain and ski resort articles?Skookum1 (talk) 03:50, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- Actually it's funny that I shoudl pick Big White as an example, as that's not a mountain article but a redirect to teh ski area article - and it shouldn't be.....the official name is Big White Mountain but I do see the point for the redirect to go the resort ,as it's the most common use (but not the first use).Skookum1 (talk) 03:52, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
