Proposed Changes to HarbourVest Partners, LLC

[edit]

Hi Everyone - My name is Eric Stone, and I work in marketing at HarbourVest. Below I've added a list of proposed changes, along with reference materials. Please let me know if you have any questions - I'm happy to help any way way that I can. Thanks for your hard work! -Eric

HarbourVest manages investments in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. - Small nit, but HarbourVest has access to a diverse range of high-quality investment opportunities in the U.S., Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and emerging markets. This distinction is important because our funds are often named specifically for these regions. For example, HarbourVest International Private Equity Partners VI - Asia Pacific Fund (HIPEP VI-Asia Pacific), HarbourVest International Private Equity Partners VI - Emerging Markets Fund (HIPEP VI-Emerging Markets), etc. - [1]

HarbourVest has offices in Boston, London, Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo, and Bogata. [2], [3], [4]

HarbourVest has over 80 investment professionals, but nearly 300 total employees. [5], [6], [7]

HarbourVest has over $35bn in assets under management. [8]

There is a higher quality version of our logo here: http://pevc.dowjones.com/Article/DownloadAttachedFile?accessno=DJFLBO0020131125e9bpgv6vf&reference=probj%3Aarchive%2FDPJORH2013112500001%2F88%2F122528&mimetype=image%2Fjpeg&imagetype=dispix&stil=en&etoken=S00UErQ2czu4TFyMTZyMTMpMTanODMuMtmm5FVF2bEoYtfrNFFBQUFBQUFBQUFBQUFBQUFBQUFBQUFBQUFBQUFBQUFBQUFB

I can provide a lot more information with sources if it would help, including most items on the HarbourVest todo list. Let me know how I can help. Thanks again!

  • For the logo image, you should feel free to keep the logo up-to-date directly as a non-controversial edit allowed by WP:COI. The same goes for information in the infobox, which has a parameter for assets under management and number of employees. Regarding the first items, we generally shouldn't include a list of office locations or markets served. In most cases they read like "we sell stuff to everybody". I will trim the list now. Merge into Finance project?

[edit]

Should this project be just simply merged into the finance project?

Wikipedia:WikiProject_Finance is the merge target referred to by the anon proposer. I have no opinion myself. UnitedStatesian (talk) 02:51, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Merger:As of recently Project Investment is merging with Project Finance.Id say this project should do the same. Cheers! WikiEditCrunch (talk) 15:06, 17 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely support a Merge, though I'm wondering how much work would be involved, given how the project layouts are a bit different. Looks like our "requests" section (the To Be Created and To Be Expanded listing) is better organized than theirs, which gives me some pause. Also wondering if we'd need to re-tag PE articles so that the Article Alerts are effectively merged and we don't orphan any entries. Pegnawl (talk) 16:24, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wind Point Partners update assistance

[edit]

Hello. I have a conflict of interest with the PE firm Wind Point Partners based in Chicago which is why I am reaching out to this group. I noticed that the page is no longer current and the numbers appear to be about a decade old. Would you be able to assist in bringing the page current? I appreciate your help, thank you! MadNutt207 (talk) 15:42, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have proposed some important corrections to the history of the historically pivotal private equity firm Warburg Pincus The proposal can be found here: Talk:Warburg Pincus#Request Edit August 2020 I hoped someone in this group might be interested in reviewing the proposals -- as I have a conflict as someone with a personal relationship to a company co-founder. (But I am unpaid and have no professional relationship to the subject.) Thank you! Fvogelstein (talk) 19:57, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have proposed a better-sourced and more up-to-date draft to replace the current page at Talk:Foundation Capital. I have a disclosed COI. Since it is a private equity company, I thought editors here may have an interest and would be more familiar with the standards/norms for private equity pages than a random editor from the Request Edit queue. Thanks in advance to anyone that takes the time to review and consider the proposed draft. Sangatfoundationcap (talk) 20:51, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Weigh in on Deletion Discussion for Hemant Taneja?

[edit]

Hi all - I've been working on the article for Hemant Taneja, a healthtech entrepreneur and GP at General Catalyst. The article has been nominated for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Hemant_Taneja_(2nd_nomination), but not many editors have weighed in, despite the discussion being live for more than a week.

Would anyone here be willing to take a look at the discussion and weigh in, especially on questions of notability/WP:BLP? We haven't had many contributors to the discussion on either side, and I'd welcome input (or even just suggestions on how to improve the article) from folks that are more experienced with this space.

Also, please let me know if this is improper. I'm relatively new here, so I'm not sure what the standard is. WisePraline (talk) 14:34, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Francisco Partners

[edit]

Hello, WikiProject Private Equity. I have an outstanding update I requested on the Francisco Partners Talk page. At the bottom of the ongoing discussion, you will see I am hoping editors can update the amount of committed capital Francisco Partners has raised, as well as its offices. Is there a volunteer who is willing to incorporate these changes into the live article for me? I will not make my own updates to the page as I respect the rules in place for my conflict of interest as an employee of Francisco Partners. Thanks for any consideration. Talk subpage

[edit]

Hello, WikiProject,

I was just wondering if y'all knew that Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Private Equity/to do existed. I'm working through a list of Talk subpages and came across it. It was last edited in 2009 so I'm wondering if it would still be of any use to this WikiProject. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:20, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Liz: I noticed this same thing on a talk page for an article and thought it was for the article itself. Now I'm realizing this is a generic To-Do list that seems to be showing up on other article talk pages. I don't really have an answer for you because I am just starting to explore Wikiprojects, but my guess is that if it hasn't been edited since 2009, it's probbaly no longer useful and seems to just add confusion (from my personal experience) on article talk pages. Review of article content

[edit]

Hello, based on the activity on this talk page (ie. lack of responses), I'm not too optimistic here but here I go. I've been reviewing pages with flags and suggesting cleanup edits to resolve the issues. One of the pages is Sofinnova which is a part of this Wikiproject. There is a discussion on the talk page (Talk:Sofinnova) and I have suggested changes to the page. I believe the article needs to be reviewed and the changes be implemented an outside editor to clean up the issues on the page. If anyone is here and willing, I'd appreciate any extra set of eyes. Thank you. WyldEys (talk) 01:11, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request to review IVP edit requests

[edit]

My name is Amelia and I work in comms for Institutional Venture Partners. I've posted a few edit requests on the IVP Talk page over the last month but I've struggled to find any interest in reviewing these proposed updates. I wanted to check here to see if any editors active on this WikiProject would be willing to help. Thank you! AGale for IVP (talk) 21:17, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
