Women in Red
[edit]Thanks for inviting Women in Red to participate in this military history campaign. Some of our members won't specifically sign in as participants of Backlog Banzai, but you can track the military history articles our members are creating/improving on our September 2019 Women in Military History event page. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:34, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- No worries, it all benefits the encyclopaedia! Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 22:55, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
Non-article pages for tagging/taskforces
[edit]Just for clarification, like last year, what kind of non-article pages are eligible? All those listed in our statistics (books, categories, disambiguations, drafts, files, portals, projects, redirects, set index articles, templates and users)? ...GELongstreet (talk) 11:42, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, all non-article pages that fall within our project. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 23:28, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
Stub assessment
[edit]The scoring notes for assessment against B-class criteria say that the checklist has to be completed for those articles assessed as being Start/List, C- or B-class. However it separately says that Stub-assessment is eligible as well. I assume that, for the obvious reason of meeting none of its criteria, the checklist is not neccessary for those Stubs to count? ...GELongstreet (talk) 12:01, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
- That's right. Stubs don't need a checklist. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 23:38, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
Open tasks template updates
[edit]What I´m not sure about - does adding more requests to those template count as scoreable update? ...GELongstreet (talk) 02:17, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
- G'day, yes, any update counts, IMO. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 09:41, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
- Agreed. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 10:09, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
Late arrival
[edit]Hello all; I seem to have been blissfully unaware of this. I will have about 2/3 RAF related articles ready to go this month. Should I leave them untagged for someone else to get the points, or is that cheating/canvassing? Regards. The joy of all things (talk) 18:25, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
- Up to you, but generally placing the tag is considered part of the initial setting up of the talk page. You could bring the articles to WP:MHAR for assessment when ready. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 22:51, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
Half-way point
[edit]G'day all, the drive is at the half-way point now, great job so far. Thousands of actions have been taken, adding task forces, tagging and assessing articles. One area that would benefit from more attention is Category:Unassessed military history articles, which has about 600 articles outstanding. That's 3,000 points going begging. Have a crack at it if you have some spare minutes! Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 09:32, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
- This has got down to 524, but it would be great to get it down to zero before the end of the month. Plenty of points there! Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 08:01, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- Roger that. Cheers. CPA-5 (talk) 12:36, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- Good job, only 118 today. Cheers, DPdH (talk) 08:55, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
Question
[edit]If an article is made, but, it's not part of a request does it still count? Cheers. CPA-5 (talk) 18:41, 20 September 2019 (UTC)
- No, only requested articles are scored for this drive. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 07:25, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
Less than a week to go
[edit]G'day all, I see things are still roaring along in several areas. Unassessed Milhist articles are down to less than 200. The question is whether we can get them down to zero by the end of the month. Still a thousand points going begging there. Keep it going! Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 07:27, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
- Answer: Yes. –♠Vami_IV†♠ 11:32, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
- It is now below 100 it is even almost below 50. A little more than 500 points are there to grap. Cheers. CPA-5 (talk) 09:38, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- I keep adding new so apparently you assess too fast. ...GELongstreet (talk) 22:01, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- Unassessed articles backlog totally reduced. –♠Vami_IV†♠ 02:26, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- Top job, everyone! Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 03:14, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- Only two days left and we have 10 Unassessed articles and 64 articles with no associated task force. Combine them all and we only have 114 points left. Also don't forget that we've also five WikiProject Military history/Assessment's requests waiting which is 25 points extra. For the non-hardcore participants this is your last chance to get at least 139 points. Cheers. CPA-5 (talk) 12:22, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

Excellent work by all to clear this backlog, particularly given that there have been well over a thousand new articles tagged as part of the drive (which would also have needed assessment). For those still wanting to pick up points, don't forget that completing the B-class checklists on the articles listed at Military history articles with incomplete B-class checklistsMilitary history articles with missing B-Class checklists is also worth five points each time. There's 840 articles with incomplete checklists and 23,400 with no checklist, so plenty to be picked up - Dumelow (talk) 20:14, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
Check you are happy with my tallying
[edit]G'day all, just check you are happy with my tallying before I hand out awards. My head is spinning at present...
Ha ha, the irony.
[edit]I made sure to get over 1,200 points on the final day to make myself eligible for the next award up. Turns out it was 1,250. I should have been more diligent. Harrias talk 21:31, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
- Turns out that you forgot to mark Siege of Ghent as being B class, so you are well over, despite your dilatory lack of diligence. Gog the Mild (talk) 21:48, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
- That's a mean way to say "nah friend you're good". –♠Vami_IV†♠ 23:43, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
- True, but that's just the type of coordinator I am. Gog the Mild (talk) 09:48, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
