Coordinators' working group
Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.
All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 05:08, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
- This looks pretty interesting. An attempt to better co-ordinate the workings of wiki-projects. I am going to stick my name down as an unofficial representative of this project, it looks like there can be more than one of these so if anyone is is interested feel free to sign up as well - Dumelow (talk) 12:00, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Needing attention: Euler–Bernoulli beam equation
Euler–Bernoulli beam equation (beam theory) is in need of attention, see the talk page. The assumptions underlying the theory are missing (see discussion on talk page). Further, there are very nice cantilever examples available, which unfortunately also had to be moved to the talk page since they contain errors. These errors need correction, and reliable sources have to be added, before this can be re-inserted. -- Crowsnest (talk) 15:17, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.
If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none
parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.
Message sent by User:Addbot to all active wiki projects per request, Comments on the message and bot are welcome here.

I have nominated List of longest suspension bridge spans for featured list removal here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured list criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks, where editors may declare to "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. -- Scorpion0422 04:05, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Nash–Sutcliffe model efficiency coefficient
Nash–Sutcliffe model efficiency coefficient is a nearly orphaned article. Can anyone add appropriate links to it from other articles and add it to any appropriate topics lists? Michael Hardy (talk) 16:25, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
Carbon grid rebar
Carbon grid is an article that needs attention. See the talk page. I added the CE template, and a quote from the rebar article, but someone with more knowledge should do some editing and rewording for clarity. --DThomsen8 (talk) 00:41, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Isambard Kingdom Brunel FAR
I have nominated Isambard Kingdom Brunel for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Parrot of Doom (talk) 10:29, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Monopile foundation
There are quite a number of Wikipedia articles that refer to "monopile foundation" but I can't seem to find any WP article (e.g., monopile, or monopile foundation; as of Sep 2009, both come up as red links) that describes a monopile foundation. Nor does the article Foundation (engineering) address the topic. Might it be possible for someone who is geotechnical engineer/structural engineer/foundation knowledgeable to either stub out an article or add a few words or a section to Foundation (engineering) to describe what one is and the general engineering principles (soil, etc.) of how they work? I see there are a lot of Google hits but a subject-matter expert could probably best summarize the important ideas for a paragraph in the WP article on foundations. Can someone take a look at this software (currently nominated for deletion) and see if it's worthy of mention in some CAE article? I realize it's mostly about automotive rather than civil engineering, but there's no wikiproject for that, and the demo on their page looks like structural analysis of some kind.
