01:27:37, 3 May 2021 review of draft by Saarif Farooqui

@Saarif Farooqui: You didn't ask a question, however looking at the article you don't provide any references that even so much as confirm it's existence let alone why it is notable or what it is. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of everything everywhere.McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 02:00, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have now also rejected the article since it now beyond the point of disruptive editing, in wasting reviewers' time when you won't even bother reading the reasons for the declines. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 02:04, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have written an article about a major campaign that has been covered extensively by a large number of news outlets, including some mentioning the campaign by name directly. Despite this, the reviewer of the article has claimed that it doesn't have enough coverage to warrant its own article. The reviewer has also claimed that use of the Campaign's own material as a source on its manifesto is inappropriate. How can you not cite an organisation's own manifesto when writing about it directly. I would like help in improving this article so it meets the necessary criteria, as I don't understand why it has been rejected so far. A campaign that has had national media coverage and has made historic achievements is definitely important enough to be in an article.

I recognise that as I have ties to the campaign, there is a conflict of interest in me writing this article, but I have attempted to word as unbiased as possible. If I could have help in rewording to prevent it being struck down on those grounds again, that would be great RB2345 (talk) 09:47, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@RB2345 A reviewer's role is to push a draft back for further work if they believe that it does not have a better than 50% chance of surviving an immediate deletion process as an article. This they have done. You should have a conversation with them about their reasons. While this is a draft your COI is in a protected space., and you may edit with no concerns.
While this is a current campaign it feels as if this is a campaign document. Please read Wikipedia:NOTSOAPBOX for some background FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 12:14, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Traditionally one asks a question at a help desk. Relying on telepathy is a poor substitute FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 12:21, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I will expand Fiddle's note by saying your article lacks any reliable sources that review the game. Think reviews in game journals, popular media, newspapers. AdmiralEek (talk) 21:40, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I was hoping that you could provide further feedback on how I can improve this article to reach a publishable standard. I believe that I have cited many reputable sources but perhaps I have relied too heavily on information from a website affiliated with the subject. Please let me know how I should proceed. Thank you.

108.14.83.30 (talk) 15:22, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft is confused. Either write the subject;s biography or wrote about their business, but not about both isn one article. There is a different standard of rec]ferencig or each:
  • For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the person is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.
alternatively,
  • We require references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS please. See WP:42. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.
Make your decision and revise your draft accordingly, please, using stellar referencing for either. Note that one may be notable whereas the other may not. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 15:28, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

18:38:35, 3 May 2021 review of draft by FireGrass1

[edit]

I am hoping to get some clarification as to what counts as a reliable source within this article. I understand that editorial commentary is not usually considered reliable or verifiable, but is a major Italian newspaper? Bookforum? The Community of Literary Magazines and Presses?

FireGrass1 (talk) 18:38, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@FireGrass1 Reliable sources are not article specific, nor are they confined to one language. Wikipedia:Reliable sources should be your universal guide FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 18:51, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, yes, I understand that---but any help on whether any of the draft is salvageable would be appreciated, as I believe some sources are reliable and some are not, but I truly have not been able to figure out which, even looking at the reliable sources page.
