Request on 00:12:48, 5 March 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Necctaylor

[edit]

Hello, I like music producing, and recently, I saw that there was not an article for the Serum VST plugin, So I decided to make one. I made a draft and published it, but it got declined, so I just want to know why the article got declined.

Necctaylor (talk) 00:12, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Necctaylor, the reasons are in the declining comment. CommanderWaterford (talk) 09:23, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi, I wish to add more 'notable performers' to the Festival Mosaic wiki page. There are some with their own wiki pages, but I have some who do not; they have their own webpage. Can you advise how I would do this and not violate any rules. The wiki I am trying to edit is:

Festival Mozaic

I have added: Erik Arvinder

I would like to add: Grace Park www.graceparkviolin.com

Thanks in advance... Barry Floyd

PS I don't see a "Save page" button. I will click on the Publish changes button ..

Barrydfloyd (talk) 06:21, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Barrydfloyd You may wish to ask at the more general Help Desk; this desk is oriented towards helping users working on draft articles. Just so you are aware, "publish changes" should be understood to simply mean "save changes". It used to say save changes, but was changed for legal reasons, to emphasize that edits are visible to the public and no longer private. 331dot (talk) 13:44, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Vishisht Mahajan You don't ask a question, but your draft was rejected, meaning it will not be considered further. As noted by reviewers, Wikipedia is not for posting essays of original research. 331dot (talk) 13:42, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I have added many references /links to the sources. Almost all images were my personal property as stated when I submitted them. My motivation was that these images would not be lost to time. Please be specific on what part of the article is lacking. Please note the New York Times article which testifies to most of the information. This format is very difficult for me, if I could get some assistance with completing this article it would be greatly appreciated. GNJusa (talk) 14:34, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

GNJusa, I see exactly one source you added to your draft. Please note also that the purpose of Wikipedia is not hosting or archiving Images. Please have a close look at WP:YFA and Help:Referencing for beginners - you article needs to be sourced by at least 2-3 WP:RS WP:THREE. CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:06, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I created the above article last year and it was declined, directing me to propose a split at University of Oklahoma. I did this (or I attempted to, I very well may have done something wrong) and in that time there's been no response. I still believe the article is valid and needed and would like to proceed in whatever way forward possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Jeramypappas (talk) 16:57, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Jeramypappas: - I suggest following exactly the procedure listed at WP:PROSPLIT.CommanderWaterford (talk) 19:31, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @CommanderWaterford: - Thank you for getting back to me so soon. As far as I know, I did follow the procedure listed at WP:PROSPLIT. It is located at the bottom of the University of Oklahoma Talk page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:University_of_Oklahoma
@Jeramypappas:, looks like you forgot Step 2 of the procedure ;-) CommanderWaterford (talk) 21:48, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@CommanderWaterford: - I absolutely did. I believe I've added the correct split notice now. Thank you for your help!

This submission allegedly reads like an advertisement, only there is no such product as Ensemble Active Management. EAM cannot be bought or sold. There are additional sources, and academic research articles on the topic. I expected Institutional Investor and the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute, as well as other wikipedia pages to be considered reliable sources. Ensemble Active Management is the application of Ensemble Methods to an identified stable of registered mutual funds, in order to extract high conviction overweight stock positions, in order to subsequently apply a consensus score across those HCO positions and deliver a ranked and weighted set of stock signals to a registered investment professional for use in the construction of investment products or portfolios.

Solsticeshines (talk) 17:37, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Solsticeshines It's not that the topic can be bought and sold, but that it just tells about the existence of it and what it does. Wikipedia articles must do more, they must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen to say about this topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability. The draft was only declined, not rejected, so the reviewer felt that there is at least a chance that you can demonstrate notability. 331dot (talk) 18:09, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

18:00:53, 5 March 2021 review of submission by Hallieedit

[edit]

This article was rejected in September 2020 on the basis that it was a temporary video store. This is inaccurate, as the article represents. e-flux is an exhibition space that housed a video store temporarily as part of their exhibition program. The article lists countless other projects that e-flux has hosted as well. Please revise the decision to reject the draft, as the article clearly shows that e-flux continues to be active in hosting events, programs, and exhibitions and in publishing journals and books. Let me know if I can help clarify anything else. Thank you.

Hallieedit (talk) 18:00, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hallieedit You should first try to approach the reviewer directly(their username is on the draft along with a link) and explain this to them. 331dot (talk) 18:07, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
331dot Hi there, thanks for the tip. I did reach out to them back when the page was rejected in September 2020 but didn't hear back. I wrote to them on their talk page again today, but in the meantime I see someone else has also moved to submit Draft:e-flux for review. Do you have any tips going forward? Thanks! Hallieedit (talk) 18:21, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
331dot, indeed interesting, a completely new account first step is to submit this very old draft for AfC Review. CommanderWaterford (talk) 21:46, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I believe I used reliable sources such as newspaper, Deadline Hollywood, KTVU Fox 2. Can you tell me what sources are considered not reliable in the article? I would really appreciate the help. Thank you! 2600:1012:B011:EEBB:64E9:FD4A:606E:74A4 (talk) 18:33, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You don't say what the draft is and are you editing whilst logged out by any chance? Theroadislong (talk) 18:36, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Are you DianeKelly, and are you asking about Draft:Mackenzie Lee Foster? I can't find much information about National Black Guide or Naluda Magazine, no evidence that they have reputations for accuracy and fact checking. So I recommend replacing those sources. The decline, however, is more about some statements not clearly being supported by any source than about cited sources not being reliable. For biographies of living people, it's best to cite a source for every statement. How, for example, do you know she "was born November 16, 2010, in San Jose, California"? In another example, Deadline is cited at the end of the next paragraph, but doesn't support the entire paragraph. All it supports is that she appeared in This Is Us and has been cast for Don't Look Deeper. Go through the entire draft and make sure every statement is supported by a reliable source. --Worldbruce (talk) 19:12, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
