07:13:15, 19 August 2021 review of draft by Ayoncx70
[edit]
Hi, I wanted to create a page on "Md Asiful Islam" but as I am not very familiar with Wikipedia, the page is now a draft and I can not clearly understand what else should I be doing to publish the page. Appreciate it if someone can help me.

Kindly please to re-review this article. I've removed the sections that were self-promoting Presearch and were unnecessary. Information - this is what matters. I believe that there's a place in wikipedia for article about Presearch project. I think that project that have over 1M registered users deserve to have at least a mention on the largest online encyclopedia.
Cheers, Jeremiasz Kłopot

- Jejopl The draft was rejected, meaning that it will not be considered further. Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about something. It is a place to summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about(in this case) a company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. I'm curious as to how you came across the draft, as Drafts are not easy to find unless you look for them specifically. Were you asked to go to the draft? 331dot (talk) 08:36, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi there, I' m planning to create a new article about The Turkish Democracy Project. But I'm not sure if the topic will be approved! Here is the website: https://turkishdemocracy.com/. Thank you so much!
- KP070707 This organization would merit an article if it receives significant coverage in independent reliable sources that have chosen on their own to write about it, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization. "Significant coverage" does not include brief mentions, press releases, interviews with staff, annoucements of routine activities, the organization website, or other primary sources. Please see Your First Article for more information.
- If you have an association with this organization, please review conflict of interest and paid editing for information on required formal disclosures you may need to make. 331dot (talk) 12:34, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
13:57:14, 19 August 2021 review of draft by Edward PhoneGenius
[edit]I don’t know how to do half the things of making a Wikipedia page please can I have some help (put it in the talk section).
Edward PhoneGenius (talk) 13:57, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- Edward PhoneGenius I would suggest that you take some time to review some existing articles, and use the new user tutorial to learn more about Wikipedia. It's also a good idea to edit existing articles first, to get a feel for what is being looked for in article content. Successfully creating a new article is the hardest task to attempt on Wikipedia. You will greatly increase your chances of success by going into it with some knowledge first.
- Be aware that a Wikipedia article should summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to state about a subject, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability. 331dot (talk) 14:11, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

Hello I'm new at Wikipedia. I got my article declined but have worked on suggestions for tone and references. However, I'd appreciate your advice to help get the article in line with the correct criteria for Wikipedia. Can you help me with this, please? SaraySanchez (talk) 14:18, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
I've done all what the reviewers asked for, and still it was rejected. 94.202.110.227 (talk) 14:25, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- You have three references tagged on to the article end with no indication of what content they support, two of them are blogs which are very rarely considered reliable sources. Theroadislong (talk) 15:12, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

- Wikipedia has articles about notable topics, there is no indication whatsoever that you are notable in WIkipedia's terms, like most of us. Theroadislong (talk) 20:23, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not social media. --Kinu t/c 20:25, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
22:39:47, 19 August 2021 review of submission by The Google Ninja

The Google Ninja (talk) 22:39, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
I have revised it multiple times and have even made it exactly how their competitors have it example and yet it still gets disapproved. What am I missing? All of the people in their space have Wikipedia pages, yet Advance America does not. Any help would be super appreciated as this is a learning experience for me.
- @The Google Ninja: All of your sources are junk. One is their website, one is Cision (which is never an acceptable source because they only ever publish press releases), and the other two are gov't websites, which we consider primary sources. No in-depth non-routine news reports or anything else that helps for notability as we define it. You also cannot use the presence, absence, or status of other articles to argue for your draft. —A little blue Bori v^_^v Jéské Couriano 22:57, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Jéské Couriano and Jéské Couriano: When a company acquires another company how else do they get the news out to the public other than doing a press release? The release on Cision is from the parent company Grupo Elektra which is stated announcing the acquisition. And the only reason I cited it was to validate the acquisition. That's how every company announces when they acquire another brand is through a press release. Is there something else you recommend? Also, I didn't cite their website. When you say "all of your sources are junk" 3 of the four sources are government pages, only 1 is Cision which I explained the reasoning behind. Any further help would be greatly appreciated.
- Your goal is to demonstrate notability. Press releases and gov't pages do not do that because they are made at the direction of, or with direct input from, the subject themselves. (I should also note M&A news is routinely reported on as a matter of course and does not help for notability even if the story was in an outlet that wasn't Cision.) —A little blue Bori v^_^v Jéské Couriano 23:23, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
