[edit]

I want to know why my article for Jonah Manzano has been rejected?

Westsidelight (talk) 07:41, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Westsidelight, What do you see when you look at User:Westsidelight/sandbox and on your talk page User talk:Westsidelight#Your submission at Articles for creation: sandbox (August 1)?
We are about to reach consensus on making the distinction between declined (Pushed back to you for further work) and Rejected (Rejected!) clearer Fiddle Faddle 08:36, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Komalsharma664655 You don't ask a question, but your draft was rejected, meaning that it will not be considered further. It appears that the company you wrote about does not meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company, nor did you offer independent reliable sources that have chosen on their own to give the company significant coverage(not republished press releases, staff interviews, announcements of routine business transactions, etc). Wikipedia is only interested in what independent reliable sources state about a subject. Please see Your First Article for more information. 331dot (talk) 10:26, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have made many changes in this page after getting recommendations from Wiki editors. I would like someone to look this over once more before resubmitting to see if I have understood and correctly executed the alterations. Thanks in advance for your help and advice! [edit]

I looked at the musical notability and I made some modifications. Here are some of the criterias that I think are met and I'm sorry in advance if I'm again wasting the reviwers time (The references are just here to serve as "proofs") :

- Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent from the musician or ensemble who created it. (Craig Xen has been the subject of articles published by XXL, Notion, BroadwayWorld, Genius and Medium. Links : [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

- Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels. (Craig Xen has two projects, Broken Kids Club and Hell Bent, and multiple songs released by label Empire). Links : [6] [7]

- Is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles. (Craig Xen has been a prominent member of both hip hop collectives Schema Posse and Members Only)

- Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country. (Craig Xen went on tour in different American states and different countries in Europe like UK and Ireland and performed at Rolling Loud festival Links : [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]

18:49:38, 1 August 2020 review of submission by Jagadish.praj

[edit]

The page I tried to create was rejected because of this error - "This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject."

I see that the problem are with the references that I provided. The references talk about the movies in question but unfortunately not about the supporting cast member for who I'm creating this page.

Does this imply that I need to provide other reference sources which clearly talk about the person in question? In that case, are YouTube videos okay to serve as reference? Also, what kind of reference sources do you accept as valid proof? Since we're dealing with a film actor, would you accept News websites, entertainment blogs, personal blogs, guest post, etc?

I would highly appreciate it if you could elaborate more on how to provide valid references (or even remove them entirely) so as to meet the Wikipedia guidelines.

Jagadish.praj (talk) 18:49, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jagadish.praj Yes, you need independent reliable sources with significant coverage of the person themselves. Brief mentions or name drops are not acceptable for establishing notability. Blogs are generally not acceptable, as they usually lack fact checking or editorial control. Videos are possibly okay, unless they are an interview with the subject. Wikipedia is not interested in what someone wants to say about themselves. 331dot (talk) 18:59, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
