[edit]
I am new to the whole wikipedia thing. I have tried to get rid of my user name on the article that I am looking to make into a page. It is supposed to say Geosmithia putterillii.

- @Darrel369: I moved your draft to Draft:Geosmithia putterillii. You might also take a look at Wikispecies. Chris Troutman (talk) 02:59, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

[edit]
This is the first article I've submitted. Why are the external sources I've cited are not considered independent, verifiable and reliable? All are from established Australian institutions.
I would also like to know what is meant by the suggestion that "content needs to be expanded." If the subject meets the notability requirements then why does the article need to be expanded? Is this a reference to an expansion in terms of the format rather than content, i.e. changing it from being in a list to being in prose form?
I appreciate any help you can provide in helping me work towards publishing my first article.

- @Aeiouxconglomerate: The issue is that most of the sourcing you've provided is from the same museum where Barkley was senior curator. That source can't be considered independent and is essentially self-published. Your newspaper sources are good but you need more sources like that. Also, a long list of what Barkley curated, especially when those works aren't notable themselves, should be reduced in favor of more about the man. Chris Troutman (talk) 03:10, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

- No draft specified!
I'm interested to know why a Registered Sporting Club in Australia as registered by local governing bodies with countless sources to satisfy genuine facts is not able to be submitted for publishing

- Hello BriarsSport. That was explained in the decline reasons provided on your draft Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Burwood Briars Sporting Club. But you deleted those decline reasons. A summary of Wikipedia's requirements for an article to exist on a specific topic is at Wikipedia:VRS. A more specific and detailed guideline for organisations is at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Many small amateur sports clubs do not meet these requirements, therefore Wikipedia does not need to have an article about them. Some do meet the requirements. I have never submitted an article before and amended my first draft quite considerably. I am trying to give people an inside view of this group who never made the big time but still do have a cult following. what is it I need to produce to satisfy your demands?
MrFosbrook (talk) 12:35, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
MrFosbrook (talk) 12:35, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
- You need to include references to multiple independent sources that discuss the group in detail. Wikipedia:VRS has a summary of this requirement. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 13:08, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

How can I create a neutral page about our web-app Vagaband Land if my intention is NOT to advertise it but to have an updated board with all information about the app?
77.58.22.214 (talk) 13:47, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
- Does it pass WP:GNG? If not then you cannot. If so it needs references. We require references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, and in WP:RS please. See WP:42 Fiddle Faddle 15:23, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

- Your company doesn't appear to be notable enough for a Wikipedia article yet and you have a conflict of interest. Theroadislong (talk) 14:18, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Trying to change title of that page to FEMME (musician) as that's the primary title of the artist. Any help?

- Unnecessary Apparently you've already resolved this. Chris Troutman (talk) 15:23, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

Can you tell me what was considered copy written? I used information from the website, with approval, is that not allowed? I just need more specifics. Kristinhege (talk) 18:55, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
- Your submission was deleted by an administrator because it was a copyright violation. You cannot copy and paste information from a website because it's in violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. You need to take a look at the policy and read about it in depth at WP:COPYRIGHT. It explains what you must do in these circumstances, even if you have consent. st170etalk 21:38, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

Why was my article declined?
- You have no sources whatsoever in your article. Every article on Wikipedia must have citations, so therefore your article was declined. I'm detecting a bit of conflict of interest here too. st170etalk 22:13, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
