[edit]Film about murders using a chemistry set
[edit]Hi
I need to know the name of a film about someone who uses a chemistry set to kill his friends and family. Possibly from the nineties?
Thanks

- Must be Benjamin Ross' The Young Poisoner's Handbook (1995), based on real-life British teen Graham Young, aka "The Teacup Poisoner". Pepso2 (talk) 09:33, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
That's the one, great, thanks a lot!

Music notation
[edit]Hello, I’m French and not very good in (at?) English. I need some musical vocabulary. I can say sharp and key for instance but not "cadence plagale" or "phrasé" and so on. May somebody give to me a link towards a page that shows most of the usual symbols used on classical scores ? With the symbol of a sharp and a written indication "this is a sharp". - The articles Glossary of musical terminology, Modern musical symbols and Musical notation should give you what you need. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 11:19, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
What's the career of the Danish musician Mek Pek?
[edit]I would like to know some general datas on the famous Danish musician Mek Pek. I found nothing in Wikipedia or elsewhere on the internet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.164.26.27 (talk) 17:49, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- That suggests that "famous" is a somewhat subjective term. -- JackofOz (talk) 00:09, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
- That's actually not true; this musician is well-known in Denmark and searching for him under "Mek Pek og Habbasutterne" brought up many results. He's been involved in music for over 20 years and has also been in films. He is from Aarhus. Doing a search for him on the Internet should actually bring something up, so I don't know why it didn't for the IP user. I got his Myspace, his Yahoo! music profiles, and whatever TV and film credits from IMDB. Mike H. Fierce! 18:14, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Early 90s Horror Movie about possessed robotic house?
[edit]I saw this film several times on ABC. I first thought it was Demon Seed, but I rented that and it wasn't it. A dark haired woman lives in a house where security cameras are always looking in on her. I can't remember if the house was haunted, or controlled by an evil computer, or the computer was being controlled by a ghost. (I think it was the last one). Any ideas? --70.167.58.6 (talk) 17:51, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- Not sure of the title, but I believe the Simpson's House of Wacks segment for the Treehouse of Horror XII episode was based on it. Our article does say it was based on Demon Seed, however. StuRat (talk) 23:56, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- Not an early 90s movie, but I saw Smart House, made in 1999 and a disney creation, several times. Not sure if it was shown on ABC though. The Reader who Writes (talk) 19:06, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
NFL Playoffs
[edit]Is there any way to estimate what percentage of Wikipedia reference desk users are excited about the playoffs? The Playoffs!! NByz (talk) 20:05, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- I am not certain there is a way to get a percentage, but go ahead and count me in the numbers ;) cheers, 10draftsdeep (talk) 20:15, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- There are many ways to estimate. (23.518%! An estimate!) However, it would be difficult to get a statistically meaningful answer. — Lomn 20:41, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'd say you could pretty much count on nobody outside of North America much caring about American football. And, in my case, being from Detroit, I think my team might have finished just a tad short of the playoffs this year. But, honestly, even in a good year, I couldn't care less. I cheer for people who save lives, not for people who like to toss their balls around. (Although I might cheer for those who like to kick balls, depending on who the balls belong to.) Video
[edit]Hi! Today I saw Led Zeppelin's video that started with a swamp. There was also an old woman who touched Plant's hair and danced. Please name it... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.52.162.94 (talk) 21:16, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- It's probably (from my memory) their version of Travelling Riverside Blues by Robert Johnson. The song was originally recorded in 1969, but unreleased until the release of BBC Sessions in 1990. There was a video of the song in regular rotation at MTV at the time, I remember it distinctly and the swamp scene was surely the opening. Led Zeppelin would release a version of the song as The Lemon Song on Led Zeppelin II, which, before the MTV video, was the more famous of the two Led Zeppelin versions... --Jayron32.talk.contribs 04:17, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks a lot, that's it! :-) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.52.162.94 (talk) 11:50, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Simply Red tune
[edit]I was at my local post office dropping of a package. A nice son was playing over the loudspeakers. I asked one of the clerks if he knows what it is and who sings it. He told me he didn't know. I was frustrated. A fellow customer told me the song could be 'I Think I Feel Love' by Simply Red. All that I know is the song was released between 2003 and 2008. Anyone know what I'm trying to find out?72.229.135.200 (talk) 21:32, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

No, that song was released in the late 1980s. The song I'm talking about was released between 2003 and 2008. It could be on one of the albums in that time frame.72.229.135.200 (talk) 00:05, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
- Maybe it was David Brent's version [[1]]? :) 216.239.234.196 (talk) 13:30, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
